This multi-platform engine was built from scratch to provide a bug-free and greatly enhanced version of this classic game. It's super mega big awesome.

An original copy of Xcom is required as it uses the original assets. Sadly, it's not on GOG, but it's on Steam, GamersGate, Amazon and probably others...

OpenXcom just reads the files and reinterprets the data. This means that various things like opening doors easily, tool-tips, new gameplay options, fixes, and so forth are allowed by OpenXcom. No new graphics, unless you use mods.
