OpenTTD, just had it's 1.0 beta release. And with this it's officially bundled with it's own graphics (very similar to the old style), this means that you don't need the old game any more to play it and this is great for people who doesn't have that ;)
For people fans of this game and similar, this is probably old news already, but for new comers, try this one. It's awesome - It's the one transport game you want to play, it's like the Sim City of Tycoon games... so to say...

Wow.
Yeh i saw this too
I'd say this is for people who don't have TTD (an excellent game; trumps nearly all tycoons in exisence), as TTD gives authenticity, but the TTD Configurator also allows for optimisation.

... only much better :-)
Transport Tycoon is definitely one of my long time favorites. Theres nothing better than getting complex railway system to work on optimal efficiency.
Ah, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, how I loved thee.
Is the IA any improved ?
Makes me want to go back to TTD. Got hooked on that, played nothing but that game for a month.

Checking it out. God, some of the train and car pileups pissed me off
Need to check this new version out.
TT original was one of my first and fav. games. spent so much time on it.
In recent years i discovered OTTD and had been playing it for quite a time.
One scenario im playing is trying to pimp out the cities as much as possible. the pic is maxed out zoom of most populated area. few towns are a bit troublesome, even after 200 years they don't wanna grow while other go from 500 people in size to being one of the biggest cities on the map in just 50 years.
anyhow here is the pic

There's nothing better with the original. No function that works better, no feature that is missing in this Open one.
