Fenixp: Well you ARE the one trolling here, you should expect these kinds of responses. I know it's normal to troll on Steam forums, since it seems to be way of communication there, but we on GoG are much more old-school and simplistic.
I will give you an example, just so I am perfectly clear:
While on Steam forums, you say 'L O L, all you people playing old Fallouts are fags!' and get a reply saying: 'No u are a fag and a homosexual!' (I'm sorry, I can't speak that language properly)
On GoG forum, it's:
"I actually don't find Fallouts as great as everyone is saying. You see, I love RPGs, but postapocalyptic setting never really sucked me in, besides, I don't like combat system too much."
"Oh come on man, combat system ain't that bad! Fallouts were really rough at the beginning, and user interface is a bit clumsy. Maybe that's the reason you couldn't get into it? You migh consider giving it another shot, I assure you, it's worth it! Also, judging by the way you talk in other topics, and by your avatar, I can tell you are attracted to males, while being male yourself. Don't you want to go to dinner sometime?"
Now I know the latter is much longer and boring, but we got used to it and it's really hard to adjust, so we have created this little community here. See, I don't go to Steam forums, because I have hard time adjusting, maybe you should consider either not going here anymore, or try to adjust?

Okay, this thread needs to live. +1 for the funnies shit I've read in awhile on here.

chautemoc: I'm thinking now mods and stuff like that could come in handy. Stuff sucks here lately, and I would love to see a few users kicked from the forums to keep things respectable.

Personally I think this place needs more banjos.

My, you appear to be succesful. Have some cake anyway ^^".
Little known fact: regular people find short, easy to disprove and/or blindly emotional statements annoying. Trolls crave these and feel threatened by walls of text, calm reasoning.
They also like to use "FACT", "CAN'T PROVE ME WRONG" and "CHECK-MATE" a lot. The more non-factual, inconsistent or disputable the statement beforehand, the better.

Wishbone: pretending that the percentage saved in a sale is the only thing that can sway customers is just as foolish.

anjohl: Of course, the ENTIRE market of GOG is CONTAINED within Steam, save a small set of titles that arn't in high demand anyway.

I searched for a few titles out of curiousity and for out the following:
Castles - n/a
Heroes of Might and Magic - n/a
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 - n/a
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - n/a
Fallout 1 - $14.50 (that is:9.99 Euro)
Fallout 2 - $14.50
Beyond Good and Evil - $7.24 (It IS cheaper !)
Tropico Reloaded - $14.50
The Longest Journey - $14.50
Unreal Tournament - $14.50
Unreal Tournament 2k4 - $21.76 (14.99 Euro) - this one was jawdropping to find...
I'm not going to bother checking every damn game out of GOG's catalogue, put out of these 11: 4 were missing, 6 were more expensive and a single one was cheaper. I take back what I said about Steam being obviously cheaper than GOG. Even if in some cases it is - I can certaintly take back the "obviously" part...

JacobNZ: Economies of scale

stonebro: Yes, Steam are indeed the Walmart of DD.

I found this to be particularly hilarious, yet true... And then I found out that it retains all the qualities of WalMart except actually being cheaper ;P.

Don't you mean respectFUL ?
Speaking of which - a part of this thread greatly reminds me of something I've seen a while ago ;>...

JacobNZ: Yes you could say that if you want to break down the point (even though the $10 game is likely to be a old budget crap title and the $50 title is likely to be a new superior regulerly played (multiplayer) title) but then your also not considering new games at the $10, 20, 30 mark. Steam had these for $1 (shooter games, ghost master(is on here)) $2(sniper elite, defense grid), $5(tourchlight), $8(gta 4 insane game).
(snip)
Which brings to the point I was trying to make earlier GOG needs one price point to compete every game on here I feel is not worth $10 but $5.99 is an alright price. This will draw new customers in as its no longer more expensive than steam and then once they experence the brand may purchase of GOG even if it is more expensive.

Are you really saying that no GOG games worth $10 since they're likely just 'old budget crap titles' and inferior compared to 'new, regularly played (multiplayer) titles'? REALLY?

Vestin: That puts a tuna sandwich in direct competition with a condom.

That would make sense. Sometimes they both contain mayonnaise.

Okay, it's official. You are a moron (Not you Catshade.).
How dare you compare today's shit bucket of games to that of the classics that started, no, MADE the games you see today what they are. If it wasn't for titles like Fallout and Duke Nukem, there wouldn't be your Modern Warfare and Dragon Age. In case you haven't noticed, this isn't a corporation like Steam, fucktard. It's a small independent company that sells these classics and probably barely makes a profit. And these games STILL have online players! If you don't like it here, then GTFO.
Joy. Another troll added to the list. To hell with this place.

Calm down chap and old games were good when they were released but your blinded by nostalgia if you think the majority can compare to todays games.

I'm not blinded by nostalgia since the majority of these games were made before I was born. I play my fair share of newer games, but frankly, a lot of them SUCK. I honestly don't see how games like Modern Warfare 2 will EVER compare to even half of the games on the site. I'm not saying that there aren't any good games, it is just that games from this era aren't what they used to be.

Alot of old games suck as well TBH, both eras are as bad as each other.

I agree with that statement as well, but you can't deny the fact that a lot of the games today are either the same generic shooter (Call of Duty series, Halo, Gears of War.), same generic sports game which shouldn't even BE games, or some buggy piece of shit (Fusion Frenzy....UGH).

Yes but that does not partake from the fact that their are classics fallout 3, mass effect, dragn age, touchlight, defense grid, killzone 2, uncharted 2 etc that are that are up their with the classics quake, doom, full throttele, warcraft, starcraft etc

To be honest I would pay $10 for each of warcraft, starcraft and full throttele.

StarCraft is still $20 in stores here.
