EDIT: Also, I've had panic attacks in the past (High anxiety FTL!). You generally tense up, your voice stops working, and you pass out. I don't think she had a panic attack per se, I think it might have been other things.

I'll raise your symptoms with a heart trying to explode out of one's chest, difficulty breathing, panic, nausea and an altered perspective (that's the only way I can describe it).

Maybe people experience panic attacks differently? Maybe there's a difference between panic and anxiety attacks?

As someone else mentioned, I do have to commend the staff. I thought they remained very professional. Last thing they'd need is the entire audience freaking out.
Its not totally uncommon for people to pass out at those things; long, hot, crowded. Nerves prolly finished her off.

Watching the video my first thought was that she might have actually been having some sort of seizure (not the grand mal variety, but one of the less dramatic types). In any case, it seems like the professors around her certainly were of the opinion that she was experiencing some kind of medical condition that needed to be attended to, and I'd also say that they conducted themselves quite well given the situation and did pretty much what needed to be done (ensuring an ambulance was called, while also keeping the crowd there under control and not unnecessarily exciting them).

I just went with generalized, what you said is spot on to what happened to me. All I remember is collapsing on the floor and waking up in the hospital. I remember bits and pieces before, but not much.

Her planned speech was probably a bit out there to begin with, but if it was a seizure that occurred then it would account for why she basically started repeating herself as the speech went on, and why she seemed more and more out of it. Basically the abnormal brain activity that's associated with a seizure can result in mental symptoms such as confusion and unresponsiveness (basically the brain going into autopilot), and as the abnormal activity spreads to other areas of the brain can then result in the physical fits commonly associated with seizures (which she seemed to be going into towards the end of the video). Basically the symptoms all seem to fit, at least in my decidedly non-expert opinion.
