Out of curiosity I signed up for the "summer" beta (this was back in March/April)... but still no news. Does anyone know when this will start?
There game selection blows, there is not one title i don't own or have already beaten there.
Ahahahaha the ressurection of this thread spurred me to have another look at the onlive website and I noticed an FAQ I hadn't read. This Q&A made me laugh a lot
How long does it take to download a game?
Trust us, it’s really fast – it’s instant, unlike anything you’ve tried.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, because we ALL know streaming is perfect and you'll never have any glitches and sudden buffers at all.

Couldn't agree more!
Yeah and it can only be more reliable when sending data 2 ways simultaneously...
Seriously, you get occasional buffering issues when streaming level data from a hard drive...
I will NEVER be convinced about all this cloud shitware, but OnLive should be at least on the right side of the things. Ie to let people try the game on their browser before they buy it. The so called "casual gamers" wanting to play Crysis 2 with their silly netbooks shall burn in hell anyway :-P

I don't know about shitware, but OnLive definitely has its uses. I imagine the day I'm traveling and I have a crappy laptop with me and I'd like to play a game or something, and I just load up the OnLive client and play maybe UT3 for a bit while I'm waiting for a flight or something. Sure beats reading a BOOK.

Aliasalpha: You can't just lie? Adults do it all the time

Shhhhhhhhhhhh! You're not supposed to tell them that!!
Now I'm going to have to fill out form ALI874-b5 in triplicate!!!
Maybe I should nominate you for removal from the Adult Association of the World, too :ninja:
I signed up, although I don't know if I'll actually be selected.
I know all the problems that can occur with streaming ANYTHING, but I'm curious to see how (or if) OnLive plans to get around those. The possibility of being able to play advanced games that have long been denied to me (due to my lack of decent hardware) is too much to resist.
The rest of you can be snarky if you want, but I, for one, choose to be hopeful until I see definite evidence that OnLive does not work.
