Welcome back all you bargain price hunters. Are you ready for another 24 hour special promo? This time you can grab [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/tropico_reloaded]Tropico Reloaded for as cheap as $3.99! That's 2 games plus an add-on that takes you on tropical islands for less then you'd pay for a sunblock.

Don't know what the game is about? Tropico Reloaded is a real-time managerial strategy that puts you in a role of El Presidente of a banana republic or a Pirate King, depending which part of the series you play. Although you're on tropical islands it's not just sipping drinks with umbrellas and smoking cigars - there is actual work to be done. You have to govern well to become the beloved ruler of your people or you can crush them under your dictatorial inclinations - we leave it up to you.

The game is only $3.99 until Thursday, February 17 at 10 a.m. EDT. You can expect another "24 hour promo" like this next Wednesday.

I'll let you in on a little secret: Almost all of the games that I have on my account I bought during promos (I think I spent like 80 dollars over the christmas sale 2 months ago)

It's not that im "rich" or anything, usually I buy at least 1 title a week, many people have a lot lot more games than me I just keep an eye out for what I buy and watch out for promotions :)

Well that is certainly smart of you... unfortunately I didn't have much money around Christmas (& now that I think about it I still don't) & couldn't take advantage of the sale.

I should note that I did the math afterwards & realized that even if all of the games had been $10, you still would have spent less than $1,000. I guess it just seemed like it would be more than it really was.
With promos you save a lot of money, but when the release is too cool I can´t control myself. That was the case with Planescape, Age of Wonders, Icewind Dale I and II, Moto Racer, The last Express...

hooston: That is all very well but gamers gate and direct2drive are not drm free (gog is) which means that when you buy and download a game from gog, the game is yours forever, if gamers gate or direct2drive ever go bust you would not be able to reinstall the game, but if gog ever went bust (will not happen) then the game would still be yours to install as often as you like. that is a major advantage of buying from gog.

Roberttitus: I can't possibly begin to tell you how wrong you are. GoG is guaranteed DRM-Free but that doesn't mean that they are the only place on the internet that sells DRM-Free games. D2D & Gamersgate both sell DRM-Free games & this game in particular is one of them.
I bought mine on direct2drive for $2.50 yesterday.. fun games.. doesn't mean I hate gog. far from it ;). just these days need to look for the best deal..
For such a small difference in price, I'd rather buy from GoG and support their smaller enterprise, their friendly spirit toward gaming and gamers (especially with their DRM free policy), rather than give money to huge babylone-minded companies like D2D & Gamersgate.

Exactly. People tend to take it as treason on here if you mention *insert game here* is cheaper somewhere else (it was surprisingly civil here for once), when in reality they should realize that not everybody can justify paying $6-$10 here. Every penny counts sometimes, especially when you live on a fixed income.

Zabinatrix: But to support GOG (since I was actually going to buy it anyway) here's another giftcode for someone else to try out: ****-****-****-****
Thank you.
I didn't say it at first because I was actually running from work to the bus stop and when someone noticed that I didn't say anything I was hoping to turn it into a lame joke.. but that didn't pan out.
So I might be a bit of a jerk, but I'm not a complete *expletive deleted*.
I'm skint right now, but I'm sure another cool deal or new release will come out after I finally get paid and I'll put some love back into the community.
