SimonG: It is more likely their exclusive deal with 1C that is big issue (at least for modern games).

Psyringe: 1C has an exclusive deal with Steam?
Bethesda has. The distribution for eastern Europe is exclusive to 1C Publishing. You can't even buy them on Steam. Therefore GOG is out of the picture.

You can in Russia now, but the price is higher than in $$$. They opened them up for us roughly a year after the rubles were added as a valid currency. I wonder, what will happen in another year.

Ah, thanks. I didn't know that.

grviper:
I'm guessing the higher price is due to shadiness on the part of these 1C people's part?
Do not forget about the spinoffs: The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire.

Roman5: I suppose that title would go to daggerfall since it essentially DID do almost all of the things morrowind did but first
Well, I don't care about Daggerfall, as I was a console gamer at the time, and Morrowind was what "got me to the dance". Maybe I would like Daggerfall if I went back and played it, but I have a feeling I wouldn't. I will wait for the inevitable HD remake collection of 1-2.

Stevedog13: Bethesda/Zenimax likely signed a long term contract with Steam. You won't be seeing their games here anytime soon.
I think you are right. In much the same way that System Shock will never be here for a reasonable price due to the illogical obtuseness of a publisher, I daresay Zenimax is locked up with the Stevil.

This thread confuses me.

But I'd like Elder Scrolls 1-3 on GOG, so whatever.

Fenixp: Ummm... What? It's not here. What's the point of this topic? I'm not saying it's pointless, I'm just trying to figure out what exactly was OP trying to say. That it shouldn't be here? But it's not! Is this some sort of reverse beg thread?
Could it be that people are voting the free games up on the wishlist above other games that are not accessible? Or could it be people actually wanting to pay for a free product on this website and I'd rather show them where to get it and to eliminate the wishlist postings?

It could also be the fact that I notice people don't like to understand what they read, but just simply read something and then point out that they are invalidity personified.

FredJokamotraye: ...
oooh, ok. While I don't necessarily agree with you, I think you should post it into discussions under respective wishlist entries - vast majority of GOG userbase is going to miss it here.

anjohl: I am all for a DRM free copy of Morrowind, although I have an old burned copy around somewhere, and since I own a license I purchased on Steam, I already have a legit DRM copy. Morrowind is one of the most important games of the last 3 generations, so it definitely belongs here.
I do understand the value in having Morrowind here, but I explained that I found my disc copy at a department store, and there seems to be no shortage. It cost me $20 and works on modern computers. Bethesda can't take the disc copy away from me.

I posted on one of the wishlist threads that Battlespire and Reguard are actually worth the time even though they were terribly made. Maybe even The Elder Scrolls Travels being pot on gog, I'm down for that too.

I also think it's important to have gog to be one of the few sources that sell you real digital media as opposed to a rental agreement that will one day dissipate, but owning a physical copy one-ups DRM free digital in the aspect of having something real, even though it's possible for either to be erased/broken.

Apparently most people didn't get what you were trying to say so it's more likely you expressed your concern in an unclear manner, not that people are too lazy to read or understand your post.

Also I think that your opinion does not make much sense or is at least highly controversial.
1. Many people like to have all their favourite games in one place. I certainly do. That may be a reason vote for them.
2. GOG does provide some games for free. So upvoting them on the wishlist does not necessarily mean that people want to pay for stuff they can get for free.
3. Physical copies aren't that easy to come by for everyone. Personally I haven't seen Morrowind in stores in years (also I think that the twenty bucks you paid is too much). And sooner or later the game will be out of print either way, it's not a bad idea to expand the digital availability before that happens. Also many people don't appreciate physical copies anyway. I preferred them for years but by now I consider them inconvenient and always prefer the digital release.
4. GOG usually DOES manage to make their releases special so there is ways how a GOG release might be better than the free one or the one found on Steam. And "it's available on Steam" is not a valid argument against a GOG release anyway.

There.

Isn't the Steam version of Morrowind DRM free anyway? Can't find that thread of Baszilisk right now.
