timppu: I think JMich has constantly linked to the statistics proving that older games have appeared on GOG more than before. But still the moaning continues.
How has he defined older? Is he using GOG's definition of about 3 years?
These discussions seem to usually turn to "I have these games from Steam already! How does GOG dare to release games I already have from somewhere else?". Well, very stupid of them to buy any games from Steam then, if it later bugs them so much if some of those games appear also on GOG.
I hear you say that a lot, but personally I haven't seen much evidence of it. No offense, but are you sure you aren't sort of "stuck" on that idea? Fred_DM may say that a bit, but I don't recall seeing many others.
I want to see both new/semi-new and old games on GOG. I'm about equally excited about today's Wargame release, as well as the news about the incoming Wing Commander: Prophecy and especially Privateer 2.
I'm not against GOG bringing new or newish games, I've more or less come to accept that (honestly surprised so many people still wanted to buy Amnesia), but I do get kind of tired when people think everyone's automatically "complaining" when some of us express a desire to see more classics appear. ("Hope to see more classics come here, GOG!") Sure, some people express their desire in a very whiny way, and should probably be reprimanded, but it sometimes feels like certain people want to "snuff out" a desire to see more classics appear, which isn't going to happen. (It's not so much what you say, it's how you say it, and I feel like de_Monteynard's online outburst certainly isn't going to convince anybody to be quiet.)
I guess I don't quite understand why having a discussion like this it's such a big deal. When it comes down to it, this is just a game forum, after all.
