I remember only bits of this game, but I know certain things.
I was born in 89, so this game might have been released in the 90s. I'm pretty certain Sierra created it, or was the publisher. It was a 2D platformer game, that involved enemies in red robes with a hood. Anyone that has any idea which game this is?

Can you remember anything else? What the main character looked like, was it sword & sorcery fantasy?
Have you looked through the list of Sierra games on wikipedia?

Alias, you sexy fuck, I found it. Apparently it's called Lode Runner. (?)
Here is a picture of the red robes I mentioned, they're monks.

I'm not THAT old school, but yeah, it's hard to describe some game where you mostly just run.
All I remembered was Sierra and Red robes. Definitely going to replay it now. This has bugged me for years! Crazy how something like this can stay with you for such a long time.

I know the feeling, for the better part of a decade my sister and I were periodically searching for this old C64 detective game that had a shellshocked army major who wandered around occasionally shouting "grenade!"
After 10 years, we finally found it
It was called "The Detective Game"
