It seems that the recommended games are always Fallout and Freespace, they're also always the games "Other People Bought".
Who's paying GOG to advertise? Where do I sign up? I need a bit more cash.

Considering the number of topics in both the Fallout and Freespace forums, it would make sense for them to rule the recommended games selection.

I think it would be nice if they varied it a bit. There are plenty of good games from other publishers here too, not just from Interplay.

The recommended games are based on which ones are the best reviewed and best selling (IIRC). Obviously, since the Fallout and Freespace games have been available the longest, they have been the biggest sellers and received the most reviews. The "Other People Bought" is just what it sounds like, other people who bought the game you are looking at also bought Fallout and Freespace (I don't think many people have not bought those games). It should also be noted that if you buy a game, it will no longer appear in the recommended or "Other People..." lists for you, something else you don't own will take its place.

I want to get rid of the ads somehow, I mean the games in the ads.
It has been showing off Fallout 1, 2, FreeSpace 2 and Giants since forever and I already own retail copies of the Fallout games...
I'd rather see something I actually would buy. Doesn't the databse see that I have bought many FPS games and try to suggest them to me instead?

Personally I'd like to see the option of user profiles featuring a list of GOG's games where you can tick off the ones you've either got or are not interested in and have them excluded from your recommendations
