Has there been some cock up on Impulse regarding Red Faction Guerrilla? A couple of weeks ago I bought it on Gamers Gate, then the other day wiped my HDD to finally install my retail copy of Win7. I loaded up Impulse wanting to download The Witcher and for some reason I now own Red Faction Gurrilla on there as well. I certainly have no e-recipt for this so my question is do I just download it and take the freebie or should I email them and tell them?

...Do what any gamer in their right mind would do...USE IT!

Red Faction Guerrilla uses Stardock's GOO system for DRM. So, it should show up in your Impulse account if you have one (same with Majesty 2 and East India Company).

But thats the funny thing... I haven't got around to installing the GG download of Red Faction Guerrilla yet. I did a full HDD wipe and install there should be no trace of the game on my system and yet there it is on the Impulse My Games list.
Edit: Just checked and the two keys are different, Impulse have indeed given me a copy of RF:G free.

And exactly why is this upsetting you?
I'd let them know. You have the game already and letting them know might get you something of greater benefit in return for your honesty. Don't tell them you already have the game though. No need to be that honest.

Yeah thats my problem I have two copies of the game so what am I going to do with them? I cant give them to anyone else. Ok, you convinced me. I will let them know. I sincerely doubt they will give me something in return though.

I know the Impulse guys. They're nice.
I bet you'll get something in reward.

You might get a voucher code or something. Even if you don't, it's not like you've lost anything.
Yeah i'm not fussed. Not really doing it to get anything, more worried that some poor schmuck is still waiting on his game to appear in the launcher lol. At the very least I like Stardock and RF:G is a rather expensive game for them to junk if I had used the activation.
I think it's just how Goo operates. I've also got it on Impulse without ever registering my GamersGate bought copy to Impulse. Do you happen to use the same email address for both services? According to Impulse support, if you do, that's how it gets added to Impulse without you doing anything.
Hands up who checked there impulse account after reading this thread :P

Yup mystery solved. It was added there because of GOO. I wonder why Gamersgate are not annoyed by that the same way they are annoyed about Modern Warfare 2?

Because it only added your game to Impulse because you already had the client installed. It didn't make the client mandatory. That's the difference.
