There is one thing people need to understand though. Al Qaeda does not represent all Muslims BUT if you hang out with moderate Muslims, you're unlikely hear them speaking against Al Qaeda. Those that do oppose Al Qaeda will not speak out of fear of their brothers seeing them as a traitor.
At work we have 5 Moroccans with strong Islam roots and they're considered very mild Muslims yet they still follow all the rules, are very proud about their religion and even they will not speak a bad word against Al Qaeda when we ask them of their opinion. They nearly all say that it was a sad day but refuse to speak ill of Al Qaeda as if they weren't the cause. In fact, I suspect they are convinced the US is the cause. Later, one of them said that it is deemed wrong to speak wrong of a brother - even extremists - and that many so called "moderate" Muslims do not oppose Al Qaeda but even support their wishes for an Islamic West. They wouldn't do it themselves, but let's say they're not upset someone else does it.
Now THAT is what you need to keep in mind. People act as if moderate Muslims have nothing to do with Al Qaeda but it's pretty obvious that many don't oppose them and in my book, that's not very far from supporting them. It means their own people will not stop them or report them which is the same as just aiding in the next terror attack.
Also, I clearly remember the day of 911 when Muslims were dancing in the streets, handing out candy and a sincere lack of footage showing angry or upset Muslims was to be found. If a Christian killed thousands in a Muslim country, you bet people here would be shocked, upset - they wouldn't be out on the street throwing sweets around for the kids.
Basically, they take their religion seriously and even the moderate ones are quite extreme by European standards. When a girl gets beaten up for not wearing a headscarf in school, or a pregnant girl gets molested for not having a husband or even killed by her father (all real examples of the past year), etc. and all by MODERATE Muslims .... well let's be sure we know what "moderate" means.
EDIT: and this is not racism - it doesn't involve a race. It involves a culture and a religion which shows a lack of respect for other people's values and cultures.

I bet some people would and they would be the ones on the news in a muslim country.

You do realise that, if we are talking in generalizations as it appears, the above statement could apply to pretty much any culture around the world. I live in a country (Northern Ireland) where you will not only find people unwilling to speak out against killers and bombers, but said people will openly support such dickheads. And some of these people are self-professed good Catholics/Protestants, as if further proof is needed that religion is only a smokescreen for human emotions such as hate and anger.
Muslims may have the position of media bogeyman but they certainly don't hold the monopoly on arrogance, disrespect and closed-mindedness. We all can hold that title at times.
SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

LOL
Not very often do you get to see a sentence, written in all sincerity, render itself completely hypocritical.
Usually you need two sentences for that.

Even funnier? I was watching the news the other day and there was some clip of a speech made by these lunatics. "I am not a racist."
You're drawing up a world where muslims everywhere are in support of each other and would never say no ill of a "brother". Not the case, at least not as things stand in our country. As of now, there's not a single mosque in this country. Now, a group of muslims have begun to gather up money to build a mosque in our capital city via loans, grants, and other means of raising money. OK, the opposition of the church was expected (competition), and some people fear the extremist side of islam. The people behind this project have, on television and other media, vocally spoken against Al-Queda and other extemist groups and condemned their actions completely. Another (small) group of fundamental islamist (but not the crazy kind, just strict) have spoken against building a mosque (!), because of the loansharking from the middle east, instead proposing a quiet and non-invasive following of islam in your home. Of course, the sunni-shi'a side of the debate is more pressing, bacause both parties are equally present in our country. As you guessed, one group does not like the other to prosper, and some bad blood is in order.

Well being anti-Islam is not racism as anyone can convert to Islam.
Opposing a religion, specifically one whose followers have proven to be explosively violent to even the most minuscule and unintentional of provocations, (both among the extremist and moderate elements) is not particularly condemnable in and of itself.
The reason I'm calling them hypocrites is that they're claiming to support religious freedom... just so long as it's their religion.

I don't really see a desire to stop Sharia law becoming civil law (which is how I read their stated cause) as being against religious freedom, since Sharia law is all about imposing Islamic regulations.
Wanting to stop the spread of Islam at all - now that's against religious Freedom.
I'm fine with it... the freedom to do that is one of the things that make the US great. We should accept all religions in my country, and they should all have equal right to build there.

That's just tacked on bullshit and you know it. The US doesn't have Sharia law and each Mosque built doesn't bring them any closer to Sharia law. It's just more of their scaremongering bullshit and an attempt to validate their claim that they're for religious freedom. It's plain to see however that they're not. Actions speak louder than words. They would not oppose this Mosque if their concern was 'Islamification'.
Religion is dumb. Every - fucking - religion - is dumb.
Ugh. Who cares. Why did you bring this up at all? Feeble attempt at creating controversy?

There's a religion based on fucking? Most of the ones I've had the displeasure of seeing have all been fairly opposed to it
