So many publishers are concerned about so called 'lost sales' (piracy) that they're blind to the sales they really do lose due to their DRM bullshit.

What is a 'lost sale', anyway? can anyone honestly say that if your pc game got, say, 10000 illegal downloads, that same amount of people would have purchased the game shuld not had been pirated? I don't think so.
And add to that the people like me who ends up purchasing again a title they already have when it is released in a much more customer-friendly manner here in GOG.

The title certainly applies to me as well. As PC-gaming is pushing evermore towards digital distribution, the more I seem to have a problem with DRM. Steam can be tolerable on a game-to-game basis, but I prefer not to bother with such middleware if I can help it.

I very much enjoy the freedom with which GOG provides me. That coupled with the likes of the Humble Bundles and other Indie offerings, and I seem to spend less and less money on things that are tied to any kind of DRM mechanic (no matter how inoffensive).

I also appreciate that mainly due to GOG I can consider my rather inexpensive lappie a great gaming machine - I'm pretty certain I can run ~99% of the games here without a hitch, judging from my test runs of some of the newest titles available - which would not be the case otherwise. Not to mention, not having to track down lost games (from varying moves) to enjoy again, plus plenty of to me 'new' old games I haven't had a chance of playing when they came out...

If it only wasn't down to the fact that it seems like now that I can finally get all the games I want I have a lot less time to play them in than I used to.

Wot are you talking about? Lost sales are always due to piracy. DRM doesn't inconvenience the paying customer in any way.

But he is not the only one. I often find myself buying two copies of every game because i like to lend some to my big brother, then i often realise i just gave him the liscence to my game, So i really screwed it up! now i just have to live with it and support the industry buy buying 100% new games. And DRM Is amazing! It has revolutionised my way of thinking, i never knew about activation limits before, but now when i try to install my games i am told i have run out of activation limits. Of course, i rang tech support and they were most supportive. The was a bit of snickering in the background, but i assumed it was some in-office joke.They set me up with a new activation and i was well set on the way.
Also, newer DRM has stopped people from fooling around with my computer, im now notified when people have made changes to my computer because of the anno 2070 DRM, i know longer have to wonder why my computer is running so slow for a few days only to find parts missing, The DRM Notifies me on the spot! it is so amazing.

Another great advance in the gaming industry is online passes! They add so much exclusitivity to games. Before anyone could get online and be like "Boom boom pew pew pew" but now, it seems more exclusive, not everybody wants to pay the $10 online pass. This means that only dedicated players can be found on servers, and not to mention, our money goes towards corporations which will continue to invent Bigger and Better security features, Which will be helpful towards it's customers in the future(s).
