I tried the PS3 demo and...DNF (PC) will be single digit by Christmas Sales.
Before the end of the Summer it will be at under $20.

Is there anyone in the US who would be good enough to gift me The Sherlock Holmes Collection? It's $=€ at 23.44. The difference in price is a whole game at the moment!

No.
X3 Terran Conflict is an identical game, just with a LOT more ships, larger universe, streamlined controls and different storylines (which are a bit worse in my opinion, but then, the game is not about storylines anyway)

X3 gold has both terran conflict and reunion, for barely $1.5 more than either of them. I'd say its worth it, if you want to explore the storylines. Otherwise, just go for Terran Conflict. Reunion has some horrid control scheme, very unintuitive (Terran Conflict is better, but still expect a very steep learning curve).
