It is nothing like guitar hero. It has many more puzzle/strategy elements than GH does, and its about much more than just pressing the right button at the right moment.

EDIT: I do love Audiosurf, though.

CoH is only censored if you install it with german languagy, and then the only thing censored are some references (they say "the germans" instead of "the nazis" and stuff), and thats the same for all european steam versions ^^

Man, being a german player must suck, there's constant bans and unavailabilities there. Well, one reason to be proud of where I'm from - but basically that's the only reason, so, yeah...

Drakensang 2 is not available in Europe through Steam, due to region restrictions. However, if a friend from the US gifts the game to me, will I be able to play it or he won't be able to gift it to me at all?

Wow, I forgot Risen was banned here in AU, it's no on my list for sale, lucky I got the retail edition, really great game, the true gothic sequel :) Reccommend it to everyone. I'm not sre what the demo is like but for me I found combat very annoying at first, but once I got the hang of it I really loved the game.

C&C games i've been debating about. 3 was good, but not great - might be worth it for the campaign. Like I said it's ok, nothing special though. Better than supreme commander but nothing on SCII.

The gameplay in Red Alert 3 was pretty terrible, Tim Curry and George Takei are awesome, but the rest was silly and dissappointing, the missions weren't very interesting, and the units jumped the shark. I loved Red Alert but never even finished this one. I've thought about trying the expansion but I'm not sure. Felt pretty let down.

I think a lot of people felt the other way, so if you like silliness you'll probably like RA3.

Of course I haven't tried C&C 4 what with all the terrible reviews, but i think it might be worth the $4 they're asking to see the ending. I'm not expecting much out of the gameplay though.

Edit: Seriously, fuck you South Australia. Banning our games. This was supposed to be getting sorted out in July, but they said it wouldn't be retroactive. The attorney generals make me sad :(

I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to play it. There are PLENTY of games region restricted to China but I have no problem buying and playing them here. In fact, I can buy region restricted games on steam with a US credit card as well.

if you want something like guitar hero - Rhythm Zone. However it's not on a discount now and if it gets discounted someday as a regular daily deal or something, be sure to check the forums first, I know it used to be quite buggy.

In addition to beat hazard, there's also The polynomial. Haven't tried it.

As for audiosurf, for that price, it's a steal. I used to be insanely addicted to it, but to my surprise some of my friends didn't like it as much (non-gamer friends though, the kind that plays maybe 2 games per year). There's the super fun mono mode which is all about reflexes, getting colored blocks, and avoiding grey blocks. And there are various other modes which are more puzzle-like and require some strategic thinking. If you get it, play it with faster/more dynamic songs definitely, and make a quick transition to the medium difficulty, much better as training imo. But there are some slower songs which look just gorgeous in the mono mode, the whole track ends up looking literally like a rainbow. The tag has nothing to do with how the track is generated, so you can play songs without tags too. Getting a nice place on the board rocks, but frankly you can avoid it completely, there's a lot of fun in just trying to beat your own score.

p.s. *fangirl mode* since you mentioned gh, have you ever played ddr? :) if you like rhythmic games even a tiny bit and haven't, you must! the world's most fun way to keep your butt firm and keep in shape in general ;)

I'm pretty much the same - mainly solo. I like being in a casual guild, as you get to know the people and can help each other out, but there's no obligation.

I've not had time to play for a few weeks, and they've introduced free server moves since I was last on, so my guild might even have scattered to the four winds for all I know. I can recommend my server, though - Shadefallen. Really great community. It's an RP server, but people don't really RP much in my experience. There are just less dicks.

Not sure about the ability to join a guild on a trial a/c. To be honest, you're probably better playing without a guild for the first few days anyway. It encourages you to explore and get stuff yourself without being handheld.

Sorry to hear/read that things are hard for you that way in Poland. I bought "Recettear" also , but I think it gets too hard too soon unless one is a real entusiast and wants to spend all ones time on the wiki and forum to get tips and tricks, I think that this game seriousloy needs a difficulty settings option so one can play it more laid back and casual...

And b.t.w. then the "Steam sale 2011" have emptied my wallet .
