wlmiv: Ok should I go with C&C 3 or Red Alert 3... and also are any of the expansion packs essential? Thanks!
Wondering the same thing. I've never played a C&C game but think I would enjoy them.

oasis789: steam dailies are crap today... bah. oh well, more money for GOG's sale
Risen is supposedly good, but I don't really want to pay over $10, even if it is just pocket change over.

Tomb Raider by Crystal Dynamics are really good.
Everyone....buy Audiosurf...NOW!

Never!

I tried it and couldn't get into it. Beat Hazard is my preferred indie music game.

I think both have their merits. Beat Hazard is pretty sweet but it can be a pain for quiet songs/songs with quiet moments. At those times Audio surf is pretty nice to play.
Stay away from Quake on Steam. Especially Quake 3.

Why so?
I have my eye on two: C&C Red Alert 3 or the Opposing Fronts expansion for Company of Heroes. It's kind of a tough decision because I've always wanted to try Red Alert 3, but I'm afraid I won't like it, even though it's really cheap. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'll like Opposing Fronts because I liked the base game, but I don't know if I want to pay more for an expansion I know I'll like than for a game I might or might not like.

Of course, I could just make a compromise and buy both. Or I could buy neither. O the dilemma!

I'm playing it now (retail copy I picked up on sale a while ago) and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Probably because I didn't have any expectations going in (I just picked it up on a whim). It's a good game and IMO worth the price they're charging on Steam.

*edit* It's the only deal there today I'd have been interested in if I didn't already own it.

I liked CoH. Challenging gameplay and maps. Then again, I'm a Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 guy, so my choice is invalid.
Anyone else notice that in today's banner art Lara Croft has 2 left feet and Chun-Li has 2 right feet?

Anyway... another C&C question. Which one of C&C3 and RA3 has the better/crazier/funnier/campier/etc story? Every time these go on sale I want to buy one and I think I just might today.

Red Alert 3 will always be the wackiest. C&C3 works on a serious level, just with campy acting.

lol That's such a wrong image...
Chun-Li does have two right feet. But you can't tell about Lara's left leg (toes are hidden), so assume it's correct.

Her right foot has left-foot toes. lol
