Steam. :P
I'd like to know: is King Arthur really heavy on the RTS side? I'm notoriously bad at RTS (I suck at Starcraft and that kind of games) and while the RPG side of this game looks tempting, I'm not sure I should buy it...

Anyway STALKER clear sky is an instabuy, that's the only one I missed, and with the Complete mod by artistspavel, I'm sure it's much better.

Fantasysci5: Arg!!! Want the Guild Wars pack so much...is it worth it?

Eh, I'm horrible at making decisions, but I think I'll pass. I'm not always around internet, and I like playing by myself-without even an AI teammate. I'm still looking for GTA IV to go on sale, and Uplink or Hacker, so I'll pass on this one.
Guild Wars is my favorite online RPG. I play mostly solo and have something like 1,400 hours in the game (been playing since it originally launched in 2006).

They have made the game much easier for newbs to pick and do well at by themselves. It used to be you needed a party for missions like Thunderhead Keep but the Heroes (AI hirelings you customize) allow for easier time then PUGs since you can control everything the Heroes do (not needed at all, but the option is there).

Just a word of note. You need hirelings for this game even if you solo. This actually adds to the atmosphere, it feels like you are in an actual party adventuring and all you have to do is control your character.

I bought it a while ago (at not nearly as great a price, but still a decent deal at the time) but haven't got around to playing it yet. But I got the impression that it's much heavier on the RTS than the RPG elements. I suck at RTS games as well, but I figured it was worth a shot for what I paid for it. I'd definitely jump on it at the current price.

CowboyBebop: So is Beat Hazard any good? Is it similar to Audiosurf? Do I have to use itunes or can I use my own music?
It's amazing. It is not similar to Audiosurf except having to use music to play the game, you don't need iTunes (Thank god), and it's very fun.
But the ultra DLC with it. :)

If I can't play the demo (I click to play the demo and it just takes me to the store page) can I still play the game? My laptop has a 2.2Ghz processor and 4 gigs of ram so it should be able to play the game right?

The one time where buying the steam version was better than buying a drm-free version since the ultra dlc is only available for the steam version.

My laptop with 2ghz and 3 gigs of ram with Vista runs it perfectly. So yes?
if the last day ends up being the typical best of, and magicka ends up being at 75% off again, is it worth buying only for the single player? (i won't be playing MP) the spell system seems so much fun...

That's what I thin, too. 4,50€ for the complete pack, even if I'm not good at it, it's still a deal
! ^_^

slash11: It should be renamed to Steam rent 2011 thread ^^.
I can't believe I'm coming to the defense of Steam... but for 2 bucks or whatever that pretty much is a rental price. I'm all for criticizing a 50 dollar game purchase on Steam (I don't have any games on Steam in fact), but I see why people buying a game for less than the cost of a pint genuinely don't give a crap that Steam might take it away some day.

That's precisely the reason why I use steam occasionally.

The 3 STALKER games for $11.22, how can people pass this offer?

C'mon, get the 3 and install the corresponding "Complete mod" for each of the games.

Yumi: If you haven't bought it already, i loved mr. robot. you should really try the demo, i tried it, played it for a few minutes and bought the game for the full price immediately. i'd buy it even if it were 20€. a friend of mine loved it too. it's a simple, old school game with characters brimming with personality and charm, and full of sci fi references (even the robot's name is asimov :)). i found it very relaxing and very fun, and the story is really charming. many people complained about the music being dull and repetitive, i loved it to bits. the fights are done in jrpg style, and don't expect much from them (though it's really fun how all the terms are computer related since you're basically "hacking", you fight worms and viruses, use firewalls to protect yourself, navigate through gpus, cpus, ram etc). but most of the game is about puzzles, exploration and platforming anyway. just try the demo for 5 minutes :)

wvpr: Mr Robot gives the impression it will become deeper than it eventually does. The battles in particular don't change much from the beginning. It has a lot of good 3d box-moving puzzles, though, and it's presented well.
Thanks, you two.

I haven't got it yet, Yumi. I saw the same dev also made Starscape... both games are for $2.50 right now. I might get the game with a robot called Asimov inside a virtual computer world, can't beat that. ;)

That's the definition of me, currently...

why the hell not rent a game for $2 or $3, really? Even if it's only a subscription, as they say... The only case not worth buying on Steam is like when you're paying the same price of a retail version, where you can have the disc.

A physical copy of Alpha Protocol here costs me more than $50, I got the rent version for $5 and I'm pretty happy with the price difference.
