Hello,

Now that Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD pack has been available on Steam, do we know when it will be released on GoG (for instance)?

Well it depends on the agreement with 'Oddworld Inhabitants'. I don't know how long Steam have had the HD version on its site for but I would hope if it does comes to GOG they would put the non HD version as a extra
When did that come out? When I first got the Oddboxx, I don't remember the HD version being in there.

Same for me, but it seems we got upgraded for free :)

Which is awesome. :D

Hope it looks good and runs well.
My gut tell me the release has been rushed a little bit, rightly so since they were way behind the initial schedule. If you follow the development on Steam forum, it was only 2 weeks or so ago the HD was in beta phase. There are still few bugs that has been reported in Steam forum but it's not a problem for Steam user because of the automatic updating system. For us non-Steam user, i guess it might come a little bit late. Don't worry, it will be available for GOG customer too, that's the words from their developer.
Turd in HD is still turd...

But yeah, GOG should update their installers.

I mean, I don't even know if its a good game. Because the port was initially so freaking broken, it was unplayable. And even today, after patching, controls without a gamepad are unbearable.

And where's Munch Oddyssey?

@down: exactly my thoughts...

Rushed upgrade of a rushed port that was so many years late, no one gave a damn anyway... Brilliant.
I just hope the atioglxx error I kept on getting with it with my hd3650 has finally been fixed.

I don't understand this, I always like Stranger Wrath, it is actually a good and original game, much underrated. Granted the PC port is not exactly the best, but the game is well worth playing, definitely not what I would call a turd.

Anyway, the HD update may also be coming here:

I'm starting to hate Steam :(

The first half is. The second half is a linear chain of levels with design hardly different from CoD, MoH and HL2. Only you have to press special buttons to regenerate and pick up ammo drops from downed enemies, and watch the same shaking and sucking animations over and over again. Also, what's the point of having live ammo and hives, when the levels are littered with prepacked critters?
Yes!! Been wating for ages! I hope they switched the renderer to DirectX like they said they were going to...

I played it with KBM, was fine, enjoyed it a ton, far from a "turd."

I'm also usually a picky person when it comes to mouse control, so you must be super--uber--picky-extrodanaire.
But it barely works on ATi cards if you manage to run it at all...

HD version of a bad port remains a bad port. And I've read already that this HD version has some problems of its own...
