Im 100% totally freaked out and geeked to the MAX, were talking lvl 4 super sayian on acid while drinking pure caffine powder mixed with Mt. DEW!

Ok so thats extreme but Divinty 2 Developer edition holy CATS man I cant wait !
I am slightly excited towards GOG press conference. It won't be anything revolutionary (at least not for me), but they usually announce some newest upcoming releases and some sweet deals, so it's worth waiting.

I just hope they'll handle live streaming better than cdp.pl with theirs >.>
I am genuinely excited to see what kind of hype-fail is hiding behind "GOG.com will go public with the biggest change to the service since launching from beta".

It's been a somewhat slim year as far as EA on GOG is concerned, so I'm kinda hoping they're gonna announce the second wave of EA games.

GOG announcement plus new game from the Quest for Glory creators.

End of next week is going to rock.
completly fine with an EA explosion if that means some Dead Space or some juicy Crysis action then count me in. id love to see Popcap games or maybe: TrickStyle in fact if TrickStyle comes thats yet another insta-buy for me
I completely forgot that was coming up next week. They hyped it pretty big: "the biggest change to the service since launching from beta?" But GOG hypes everything pretty big, so who knows? Looking forward to it.

I personally have divine divinity and played the demo of beyond divinity. I gave both a try, but didn't like either.

Are you talking about the first person rpg?

I think I'm one of the few that is interested in "old games" announcements, and am hoping they have something to say about them besides giving us literally unbeatable deals for ones already on the site.

GOG released a press release here, including the following quote:

"On Thursday, October 11, one week before the grand finale, an unheard-of deal with one of the finest indie developers of video-gaming magic will be announced, and finally, on the 18th of October, GOG.com will go public with the biggest change to the service since launching from beta--and will have tons of other great news, releases, and announcements as well."

October 11 was the Divinity thing, which I don't think anybody guessed (lot's of people, including me, were assuming Double Fine). But the "biggest change to the service" is still to be announced; I'm wondering whether the reality of what they actually announce will match up with the hype; don't know what you mean about a first person RPG.

Last time it was not only old but also new games. Maybe they just skip the pretence now and go only new games.

They claimed to close up shop when they came out of beta. It follows that when they announce "biggest changes since beta", they'll actually close up shop.

The wording implies that there are going to be fundamental changes to the service itself, so I can only assume one or both of two things:

* GOG would be launching an optional but fully fledged client that handles friends lists, in-game overlay, autopatching (which SimonG would doubtless be over the moon about) etc.

* GOG would be implementing a system to satisfy the ECJ ruling to some degree to allow the transfer of games between accounts or a GMG-style cash-in system on GOG.

There's not really a whole lot else I could think of in terms of logical changes to the service itself, unless my imagination is very limited. It's quite possible that GOG is just overhyping it again. Recent 'major' announcements have been rather disappointing to be honest.
