It'd be ok with me if you guys went higher or cheaper either way, seein' as here we get value for our purchases and you guys treat us with respect. Anybody agree? Regardless of price, the value you get with each game is absolutely huge. I wouldn't mind if it came down to a game being able to come on here, but only with a higher price than $9.99 or a game coming on here for just a few dollars. Either way, as long as it's here with no DRM and the same great extras I love, I'd be willing to pay it. :D

Dangerous. If GOG were to introduce say a $14.99 price point to please Activision the other publishers like Ubisoft would also take advantage of it. At the moment all Ubisoft games regardless of the value (HOMM i'm looking at you) are $9.99. If there was a $14.99 price point then it's not unreasonable to assume all future Activision and Ubisoft titles would be $14.99 each.

I wouldn't mind paying more or less than the standard prices. I like GOG because of the DRM-free releases and the work they do getting old games running on new operating systems.

But would you get tons of extras? Ubisoft are rather mean with what they supply to GOG as extras. When you factor in the high cost of their games they are very low down on the value for money scale. I simply can't see Ubisoft or for that matter Activision bothering and they would still demand the highest price point.
You also then have to deal with comparing to Steam. Activision sell COD for $19.99 on Steam with DRM and no extras. Are you expecting Bobby to suddenly jump at the chance to sell the same game for $5 less and no DRM, plus you expect extras from him?

I think there should be a $7.99 price point too. But I think they should only allow >$9.99 for compilations. If they got too flexible with pricing then it would be abused, just like Steam and every other DD site is.

I personally wouldnt pay more then 10 (about 11-12AUD).
In my mind once you past ten the amount moves into its own realm of "is this really worth it?" Or "Cant i spend my money on something else?".
I allready find it hard to for out 10 for a game unless it is nicly discounted. Oh and i have no greif with steam so while DRM free is very nice im not really willing to pay more then a couple of dollars for it.
You know, these games are old (Well most of them), i cant really bring myself to paying alot for them and remember, not all of us have jobs or lots of game money.
Im allways happy if the game is cheaper though : )

I'm not going to argue if the extras would be there, because the only way I would accept a higher price point is if the extras were there, if they weren't there, then I would think a little harder about not buying it.

As long as they were good, quality titles, I wouldn't mind. Now, can we please get Chronicles of Riddick please!? =)

But thats my point. You see when you go above $9.99 you leave the realm of the impulse buy and you enter serious consideration. I have no doubt that allowing prices to exceed $9.99 would attract more publishers but I personally don't trust publishers are far as I can throw them (after all they make money, thats what they exist for) and I can forsee that once the floodgates are opened GOG would lose a lot of what makes GOG, GOG.

Not now, probably two or three years from now, when GOG (hopefully) has a better bargaining power to negotiate a better contract with publishers.

Well, considering my budget now, I systematically pass on games in Digital Download priced more than 10$. The only occasion I can pay more is when I can have the game in a boxed version, with a nice manual.
I don't really care about extras. I mean, I'm grateful to GOG to bring us extras, but that's generally not what makes me click on the "add to cart" button. If i want a game on GOG, even with 0 extra, I buy it.

The price points are a major part of what separates GOG from the rest. Anyway there's no point in going higher. Any title old enough to be on GOG is old enough to be sold at $6 or $10. They've got it figured out. :P
