Kakihara: But what if there's a new game without DRM and without compatibility because, well, it's a new frikkin' game?
What's the point of GOG? It would just be every other Digital Distribution site.

Tarm: The point of GOG? Provide old games without DRM, cheap and that work on new computers. I don't see why we can't have what I asked about and that at the same time.
So what if it's a new game without DRM? It's still very practical to be able to download it from here etc.

New games with out drm? Time for a new website called good new games.

Weclock: I'd honestly, literally be willing to pay anything if it allowed me to play my favorite games DRM free, cheap or not, the fact that I can get these old games, legally is INVALUABLE.

Yes, and this attitude has got the rights holders, who normally wouldn't give a crap about these old IPs, wringing their hands in new found expectation.

And good for them, they made a game so good it transcends time and is considered important beyond just to them.

Clearly, we have two very different outlooks on this. Agree to disagree, I guess.

Delixe: Dangerous. If GOG were to introduce say a $14.99 price point to please Activision the other publishers like Ubisoft would also take advantage of it.

I'm waiting...=)

Do you know the worst selling publisher on GOG? Ubisoft. (I'm guessing but I am probably right)

If Call of Duty arrived on Tuesday for the higher price point whatever it is you would be first in line.

That explains why you are not bothered. COD2 is pretty much concentrated awsome.

Now if Tom Clancy games were put on hold then we would have a problem.

GOG has stated the first batch of sales were quite good, and that's the reason they got the HoMM / M&M games.

Dude Tom Clancy doesn't actually play games he just gets the cheques. To date there have only been 3 decent Tom Clancy games. Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Red Storm Rising.

I..know...that...dude.
I love Splinter Cell series and Rainbow Six is decent when your team isn't made of other morons. There is room for ONE MORON, and that is ME.
