Yes I realize this is a forum for video games but I have looked all over the internet for the answer to my question without a concrete answer. And since I refuse to sign up for another forum or buy the MLA guidebook (atm), and I know some people in here have gone to college at the very least, I'll ask here.

When you cite different pages from the same source and same author, in the works cited page do you place single citation with multiple page numbers or do you do a citation per cite?
Because I THINK it is the former but I want to be sure.

A single citation, I think. MLA is supposed to be efficient.

A guide:
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/

They are not explicit about the single citation, but in their example undergraduate paper, the same source is cited more than once yet only receives a single entry on the works cited page.

edit: If you look at the paper yourself, you'll see that the relevant page numbers are included only in the in-text citation, and not the works cited. There are circumstances in which you would include page numbers on the works cited, though. But these are to indicate the location of the work, not the location of the citation.

Take this with a grain of salt, please, as what the hell do I know.

Using the site Grimwerk linked to, I think this page contains what you're looking for. I bookmarked the site, I'll never (probably) never use it but it looks like a good reference should I ever need it.

Thank you for that information. I think that is right but I'll check with my teacher.

@everyone else: Thank you for your help.
