Klumpen0815: All I want is Gothic1 on sale once before it's gone from the catalogue. Regular prizes for old games here are so ridiculously far above the ones for physical copies, that I only buy them on sale.

For some reason this one is never on sale.
avatar
RadonGOG: The reason is simple: Gothic I isn´t part of NordicGames Catalog! So it´s not NordicGames, but PiranhaBytes who decide when it´ll go on sale!
And this is also the reason why it won´t be removed...
No need to smartass here, I know this, but it doesn't change a thing.
I always consider the possibility of a game being removed here since I didn't get Re-Volt and XIII besides some others when I still had the chance.

Good point, always fear the same...
I'm waiting for a Gothic 1 sale as well :) €7.99 is just too much for it after almost 15 years, even though it's a great game.

Oh and GoG should offer at least offer all games from German developers in German language as well, just makes sense in my opinion and I kinda regret having bought the Settlers series for example because of that reason.

ozzyoscy: I'm sure plenty of people held off buying in the Winter Sale because they expected a Christmas sale.
avatar
Cambrey: I was one of them. Meh, no rush, there will be a Christmas sale anyways...
There won't. That's the point.

nuketakuler: I collect games like baseball cards. Even if i only played 80 i love my 520 games i slowly collect minus the crppy ones i dont buy. Its just a hobby so not about about quality but collecting baseball ( games) cards. I like my collection its fun to choose out of tons i havent played randomly
Collecting physical items is one thing, but you 'collect' digital games?...

RWarehall: I think 27 games for sale, many among the highest rated with some considered among the best games of all time, isn't a bad holiday sale.
Well, 27 is a paltry number, but there's no need for hyperbole either. Deus Ex and a couple of Tomb Raiders may fit your description, but the 20+ other games don't. Had anyone even heard of the likes of Startopia?

Seriously, quit crying. We just had two huge sales where all but 60 titles were on sale. We now have 27 games from one of the most popular publishers which is a large number for a weekend sale and this just after a 35 game Nordic sale. Deus Ex and Thief 1 & 2 are 5 star user rated games and I've seen all three high up on best of all-time lists. This isn't mentioning the Legacy of Kain series, Hitman series, Tomb Raider. Anachronox is a cult classic and, yes, many people know about Startopia, even if you do not.

Quite frankly, your complaints are full of shit. What I've seen is almost two months of crazy sales here. And you seem to still want to complain...

Ok stopped reading here.

You're getting upset and you're assuming I must be too, or you're pretending I'm emotional as an internet tactic to invalidate my view and feign superiority. Given your paragraph and opening few words, likely the former. Either way, put the keyboard down. It's not a weapon.

Right. You stopped reading right when I told you exactly how wrong you were...

I stopped reading at "Seriously, quit crying", the first few words. Why would I keep reading after that? You know you don't HAVE to read everything, right?

You're playing the 'internet arguer' stereotype to a T, right down to claiming you proved an opinion wrong, and that one would be emotionally distraught over it. Next you'll be saying I'm "butthurt".

Not least because you just blew your second chance with me, I'll clarify now that this will be my last reply to you, lest this becomes one of those multi-page essay arguments you're likely familiar with. Assuming you're also a Last Worder, proceed:
I'm not the one posting 8 times in the last two days complaining. And even when people explain to you there is a sale going on right now, you ignore them. The current sale is pretty darn good and the pre-Christmas Nordic sale at up to 90% off with 35 games was incredible. You are pretty much just trolling at this point...

What did you mean?
I dunno the sales figures, but I've got such sales fatigue. More new games would certainly be nice, even if it was 2005 era bottom of the barrel type games, just something new on the site. Keep it fresh you know?
avatar
ozzyoscy: What did you mean?
I meant that I wasn't paying too much attention to the winter sales because, like many of us, I thought that there will be a Christmas sale.

El_Caz: I think once upon a time, GOG had a sale that ran at the same time as the Steam one. Ever since then, the christmas GOG sales have happened before the Steam sales begin. While I understand your point, I think they prefer to cash in before Steam's sale. A small flash sale doesn't seem like a bad idea though, but I really don't know what goes behind coordinating a sale of that sort. Maybe they don't think it's worth it, maybe they hadn't thought about it until you pointed it out.
Perhaps, but apart from people who are regulars or are already signed up for their mailing lists, people are going to miss the sale completely because it's happening several weeks ahead of time.

What's more, because of the way that gifts work, that means that you have to send the gift to yourself if you want them to receive the gift on Christmas as gifts are sent out immediately.

I get that they need to do something to avoid Steam, but this is rather ridiculous.
I want to jump into my digital library in a bathing suit and swim in all my games. I dont even care if i play them all, i just want to sit and look at them and smoke my lord of the rings pipe. Like a leprechaun and his gold. Oh as far as the devs are concerned with no real sale these holidays? If i was the queen id be saying "off with their heads" . Theres no time for being nice, they obviously should be flogged, and purged
