"VideoGamer.com: How have publishers reacted to your no DRM policy?
LK: It really depends on the publisher. Some of them are aware that their back catalogue games are easily available on different p2p sites without any copy protection and agree with our approach. But some publishers, when they hear that we sell games without DRM, are like: "You're doing what?!" Luckily we can inform them that until now we haven't seen GOG.com versions of games on torrent sites. Our community is really supporting us and respecting our work and effort. We're really proud of them."
This site is really a oasis in the gaming industry. Few have shown so much respect to their clients as you so the feeling are mutual... Keep up.
P.S. Oh my God... Ubisoft!
This surprises me as well; but it's good to see that the various pirate groups have the decency not use the GOG versions, and it lightens my heart.

Another poster here on GOG said on another thread that he indeed saw a GOG version floating around on some torrent sites, it sucks a lot.
To be honest, it actually really surprised me.I thought that immediately after launch, the torrent sites would be swarming with gog games - but I looked recently and did not see a single gog game there.
Which is awesome.
Hear, hear. :)
It sucks that even one person would do it but eh, it's to be expected I guess. Hopefully it didn't get many downloads..
I've actually seen GOG games on a very well known P2P site - it's shocking. Although I have to say a quick glance at their stats showed very few peers, but that doesn't make it alright.
It just shows you how much people are willing to make gog work by not putting games on p2p. This is one of the best things i have seen from this community not only is the forums great we treat each other with respect compared to some forums that end up a slagging match nearly every post but also we all try and help each other with advice and suggestions.
The Gog gang have helped to by being very active in the forums which is great to see.
I think this is why we are not seeing much gog stuff on p2p thank gd and hopefully not to :)

Or is it just because people are not interested in a 6 year old game?
A quick search has revealed that there are games out there that GOG sell; they're just dwarfed by other newer games that people actually want.
Some people see games, such as those offered here, as aged and decrepid so why should they waste their time especially since they've already done the bazzars for a few years anyway?
There is no honour; just a thirst for the new games that people actually want.

If that were the case, GOG wouldn't have a business.
Elmo, considering the ongoing success of GOG, I think you are seriously underestimating the appeal of the games they offer. After all what are any of us here for if not a desire to play these games again? Also, I think you are seriously underestimating the appeal of a game without any DRM at all. No need to find a crack for a game from potentially sketchy sources, just install and play is a really good thing. Lastly, I think you are seriously underestimating the desire of most people to actually do the right thing and buy the games they play. Sure there will always be some who will pirate, but there are many who currently feel forced to pirate because of factors like DRM, game costs, regional availability, etc., all of which GOG has resolved, even if the games might be a little out of date.

Exactly. Buying games from GOG doesn't just allow you to play them (i.e. steam) it also makes you feel like the game is actually yours. Even more, it usually comes with goodies and the feeling of doing the right thing.
No regional restrictions unlike Steam, and that's what I love. The fact that it's relatively cheap is all the better. Though I'd like old games, not 2004 games.
I would think at least some douche would put them up on torrent but apparently not.
GoG: Douche free since 2008.
There's one legitimate possibility for gog versions bring on torrent sites and thats as demos. I know several people who are dubious about the compatibility of gogs games for their modern hardware and I could imagine a pirate version dispelling that uncertainty and leading to a sale.
There is also the possibility of people being cheap selfish pricks unwilling to spend even a small amount of money on something when they can just get it for nothing. Sadly this is the more likely of the 2 options
I'm glad to see this, it certainly is encouraging. I've only seen one thing outside GOG, which was a trainer for a GOG version of Darkstar One, but that is it. I had a search around as well and also found nothing.
With the world in 'economic crisis' for GOG to offer games in this way for so cheap is a God-send. I know I can defiantly wait for games I want to turn up on here, the benefits outweigh any urge to play something as soon as its released. I've learnt this from years of buying games full price on the release date and then not touching them for weeks because I'm too busy with work. Never doing that again. For example, I've always wanted to play Far Cry, and if I'd bought it on release it would STILL be in its plastic at this point in time; now its coming to GOG and I'm over the moon.
Seriously I'm not joking about this, I bought Broken Sword: The Angel of Death on release and I've still not installed it.
