There's a chess one going on. Can't seem to find the thread though.

Personally, I can't see why you would want one than more chess game. Battle Chess is fun, and I've heard good things about the Chessmaster franchise, but one is enough for a lifetime, unless they create some crazy 3D version that goes over-the-top, with explosions, decapitations, and general craziness.

Not exactly. The Chess AI varies wildly from game to game. In the Battle Chess series it is very poor even on the hardest difficulty settings. So if you've got Battle / Combat Chess and are looking for a challenge - you'll have to get a chess game with a proper chess engine.

Now that you mention it, Chessmaster 9000 looks pretty awesome! I think I might get it.

I can't even beat the Vista Chess. The pure logical nature of the game is too alienating to me, however well its dressed up. Othello/Reversi on the other hand, I'm pretty good at that.

I'm happy with the original Battle Chess and the PC speaker sound effects. It's fun just to go a round with the PC and not be serious for a change. I'm eyeballing the enchanced version of BC though.
I'd like to see that National Lampoons Chess on here just to see what it was about.
