This is sad, I thougt this was going to be the new GOG policy.
One Day Promo was a very good idea. I can't see why they should drop it...
They've said somewhere that they're doing a few in February just for a test run, and would consider a more regular run based on feedback and sales data.

Read this.
All these promos were great games, I just had them all. And with a one day contest I didn't feel like I could do any kind of fun giveaway with them.
To be honest, I'm glad they aren't continuing it, I was having a really hard time not biting on it. I'd rather they did more things like this spontaneously, or perhaps like the third Wednesday of the month sort of thing.
Yes. To make it official: We were only running these for February as a test to see how they did.

and they will be assessing it alongside the other stuff they have tried/will try. I doubt they are quite ready for an announcement just yet.

Shame

The community really loved them, we certainly hope they come back sometime soon!
I didn't buy anything during the one day promos but that is only because I literally didn't have any way to purchase them, needless to say I would love to see one day promos make a comeback.
You could do what Steam does and have a 99% off sale on the entire store for one minute at a random time every year.

...what do you mean they don't do that? That sounds like the talk of somebody who missed out!

Hopefully they did well because GoG really could use more sales with both: 1) different variety/frequency, and 2) bigger discounts. These sales covered both of those angles.

I'll be perfectly honest. Despite the low price points I rarely budge on a game unless I see it at 50% (what used to be the lowest discount) -- the reality is I have well over a dozen games on my 'to play' list including two or three on GoG so unless something is offered at a discount there's no reason for me to buy it if I won't be getting around to playing it prior to another big annual sale a la Christmas.
I didn't bite on any of the promos because i had no internet at the time, i would hope the promos turned out well for everybody involved because i think they are a great way of promoting the site and giving awesome deals to the user. Also please make Gothic 2 a daily deal, bye.

I certainly hope they turned out well and that GOG finds continuing to run them worth it. I know that I, for one, grabbed each of the one-day promos (as well as some of the weekend promos). And thus ended my time as a freeloader on this site. :)

Thanks for the test run nonetheless!
