Over 200 Dollars of DLC Already confirmed and the game isn't even out yet

There is no hope left for Mass Effect 3
Attachments:
I thought you'd have already been against it due to the Kinect voice integration, simply on principle:)
Like 40 euro of DLC for Mass Effect 2 isn't bad enough...

Hardy harr, very funny orcish :)

Seriously though, the Kinect stuff is optional, the things I posted however...will drastically affect the way the game turns out in the end

and baby...from what i've seen...it's going to get ugly...

Wait, how do you see that Escapist Article as a bad thing...? that sounds like sound design to me...

The "sixty hours of exposition on previous games" is pretty worrying, methinks. Though the requirement to play coop in order to get the good ending is even more worrying. I also wonder if new non-imported games will have made the same horribly bad past decisions in ME3 that they did for new games in ME2.

Bioware have said themselves that they "Want Call of Duty's audience" When a developer says "This game will be more Accessible for New Players" it usually spells out "This game is going to be shit"

Don't be an alarmist. Those "200 dollars", I'm sure you already know, are simply small weapons that come with collector figurines they're selling separately. It's not "DLC", just something added to try and get more people to buy the figures and it won't affect your game experience at all. I find it ridiculous that people complain about this but don't complain about having different preorder bonuses on different stores by saying they now have to buy the game 5 times and therefore that's $300 on DLC. It's the same principle.
According to this article, you can get the best ending without playing the multiplayer: http://www.1up.com/news/mass-effect-3-multiplayer-impact-single-player-story-outcome

It won't be any fun anyway if they won't let us play as a hanar.
That multiplayer thing is the only thing that really bothers me. I'm not much of a multiplayer person. I don't want to miss out on the best ending because of that. And plus, I thought I read somewhere that it is still possible to get the best ending without multiplayer. You just have to do a whole lot of extra stuff in the single player.

EDIT: Blagh, Dragobr's post must have come up while I was typing mine. If that article is true, all hope is not lost (in my book, anyways).

They may have said that elsewhere but they didn't say it there, everything they said there is completely sane, limiting yourself to only the people who've played the other two games (one of which is extremely long) is a bad idea. You wanted a deep story (well it was sorta deep) in the other two, you got it, the price the devs paid was trying to keep the story you expect from the last two while not pissing you off by doing a "On last week's episode" for a ton of the playtime, because you don't care, but some people do.

They know there's people who are buying this thing solely due to the Kinect integration, alienating them is a moronic move, when they may have nothing against playing a deep, interesting RPG, they just don't know this particular deep, interesting RPG.

No, they're saying if you played the previous 2 games you probably have 60 hours or so of backstory that newcomers will not. That's actually a fuckton of backstory and it makes sense to integrate a way to help newcomers understand it without annoying the longtime fans.

Co-op multiplayer may or may not be bad for the game, it's definitely not available on the 360 w/o Gold though, so it's kind of a dick move to restrict your single player success by your ability to do this.

I know I wouldn't feel alienated from Gears 3 by not having the pink Lancer skin, so yeah.

So the fact they added an "action mode" (conversations play as cinematics) and "story mode" (easy combat) aswell as their standard "RPG" is a bad thing??*
The DLC's are all extra weapons and looks for squad members so nothing needed there and the art book is a new look for some aswell I believe . Oh and all the multiplayer does is lower the SP requirements to get the different endings you can get them all through singleplayer too.**

* anything that gets the COD generation to try something deeper is fine by me...

It's a Bioware game, there was never any hope.
Why did I new it was you who made this topic without even checking? I wonder.
Whew...after reading through the thread, I'm glad to see some of these issues Roman addressed. I was beginning to wonder if my Shephard was ever gonna finish this trilogy. the rate it was going, it looked as if the trash was going to be his new home
