I am just wondering what the percentage of goglodytes who have never been in a relationship. It seems like many of my friends have never had any kind of romantic life. I wonder if it something to do with us, or if you guys are in the same situation. I just turned 23 last week, and it seems like I am doomed. I don't know if it because of the way the media portrays it, but it seems pretty devastating if you let it get to you. I am not going to lie though, I am overweight, socially awkward and still in school (becoming a teacher). I just wonder that if in two years, when I have my bachelors degree, it will be too late to pursue a meaningful relationship. For example, I was just stood up today on a date to see the last showing of Gravity. It feels terrible to get that text that they are not going to be able to come, then having to respond to them the next day or whatever. I don't know what to do. I feel like moving to another country, where my social awkwardness is perceived less strongly. Mexican women seem like fantastic people and great cooks.

It's never too late. No matter what you look like or weigh, there is always someone out there for you. The ones worth being with won't care about that anyway. You just have to try to go out of your comfort zone and be as social as possible, even if it just means going once a week to a new club on campus. Two years left on a college campus is a long time to turn things around. Even after that it's not too late. Being stood up sucks but I promise there's a wonderful woman out there thinking the exact same thing you are just waiting to be found. Keep fighting the good fight, my friend!

I hate to be the guy who refutes everything anyone says, but I tried looking for clubs at my CC. They are but nonexistent. When I transfer next semester, I will a part of a small teaching apprenticeship working and studying full time. I don't think that I will even have time to worry about grills in my last two years. It feels like I am just going to get a job and deal with bitchy women who will judge me all day for being a bachelor in my chosen profession. I also want to travel in my summers, and I want someone to travel with me a la Kade and Eric on youtube. I guess a lot of my problem is that I live an a desperately miserable small town.

As already said. It is never too late. And if you have problems, than just don't try dates and instead just try to make female buddys. Just hang out with them from time to time. Just treat them like a human and not something where you have problems with.

I think this kind of thing comes naturally. Mostly once you have an active life, like work => coworkers, with time these coworkers can become friends (or not) with through relations you can meet new people and maybe one of them will have a romantic interest
For my cliché: I met my first GF at 21 on WoW, she was the friend of a friend of a friend and few months later I met her irl and we got together.
I don't think pushing too hard is the solution, I just think you have to meet new people not while specifically looking for a romantic relationship.

I am lanky, awkward, and flirtatious. I am every girl's best guy friend. I dated a girl for 6 years, my only girlfriend at that, and dumped her because I wasn't happy. You'll find that someone.

I'm 35 this year, never been in relationship. Never been on a date either.

I don't know how to explain it, but when I was a teenager, I easily fall in love and have a crush. The most serious moment when I was in high school equivalent (16-17) where I really have a crush on this girl. It was so serious that if she liked me too, I would have gotten married at 18, before going to the university.

But she not interested in me. At the university, I also have a crush on this woman, but I didn't pursue it because of my problem with the university and dropped out.

I never fall in love ever since. Life was just going to work, get rest at weekend, and go to work again. Ever since 2000.

The problem become harder when early on my job was mostly men (machinery and build house) or back office (loan processor, and now DBA) - and most people already married.

Sometimes I do go out at weekend (moves / bookstore) but again, going out alone to these places is not going to land you girlfriends.

Of course, since I'm a muslim and this is Islamic country, people tend to marry early (majority graduates get their significant other at universities) and get married once graduated.

Oh well... live and let live I guess.

Just to clarify, never having being in a relationship and being a virgin are not synonyms unless you have a very broad definition of what a relationship is.

I started getting myself laid in my early twenties, but I only met the woman who doomed me to a life of monogamy (and coincidentally was my first relationship) in my mid-twenties.

About 3.5 years of youthful pleasure, really.

Seriously, dude, don't look so hard for a relationship if you're in your twenties. Have some fun for crying out loud.

Just make sure whoever you're having fun with doesn't do intravenous drugs, didn't sleep with half the town and use a condom. And once in a while, get tested, because most of the STDs you are remotely likely to catch with a condom are inconsequential if caught early, but a world of hurt if they go undiagnosed for a while.

And never say you are mostly looking to get laid, you won't. Just say you remain open to various possibilities (which hopefully is the truth).
