Signatures under posts warp the minds of our children and weaken the resolve of our allies. They are evil. That much is obvious to all, I hope.
Forum signatures are great if you're 14 years old and think that you're expressing your individuality and being creative.

Lets not go there again.

Well sir, my inner child is offended. :P
I don't really care for forum signatures though.
when i was new to GOG i asked about introducing sigs,

I was shot down in flames. When gog did temporarily add them it didnt end well, If my memory is right the official line was they were added early by accident and removed, but it translated as you jackasses cant be trusted with them to me..
It's been so long since I've ever had one. I remember being the reason websites had to set size limits. Page taking an hour to load? My masterpieces were worth it. :D

I think you just quoted Mussolini. :P

A-fucking-men. Sigs are great for links to your blog that no one reads, or "awesome quotes" that most people have seen a blue million times, or obnoxious banner images, or playlist widgets that expose your lousy taste in music. Basically anything that the poster actually believes anyones gives a shit about, but which no one does.

I love how folks who are in favour of adding this are quick to point out that it should be disable-able for people who don't want it. As if something that 90% of users are going to disable immediately is a good investment of development time and effort. I bet they miss Clippy too.
I am 14 years old so give me my sig! (I am not but I would like it anyway.)
I think thye were cool and unintrusive the way we saw them.
I'm glad there isn't signatures (at least that I can see :P). I've seen enough of song lyrics, stupid quotes, and images that are too large and stretch out pages to Timbuktu.

Hey, my taste in music is impeccable.

The "helpful" paperclip from Word? I actually thought he was hilarious. Plus you could change him out for a wizard! Good times. :D
Now just imagine if GOG was more like GamersGate, little avatars that pop up every damn minute saying you just accomplished something non-worthwhile.. like buying stuff from them? "Oh thanks for buying a game, you've earned 1/100th in blue coins, 99 more purchases to go and you can buy ears for your avatar!!!!111"

Nah, I'm good.. =Þ
I'd rather have more social features within gog.com. Like a public/private: profile, game library, and/or wishlist... even if its just the ability to remove names from our 'messages' list... and ability to make a friends list.
A signature would at least allow people to share links to their 'offsite' gog.com library/wishlist.
I understand gog's reluctance to use resources on building up a micro-community features.

This, signatures get annoying and clutter up good threads.

Shukaku: Is there any particular reason why the ability to add a forum signature to the end of posts is not included here ? I only just noticed it (2 years after the fact -.-) and wondered why.

Wishbone: Why would you want every post to be followed by something completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand? They're useless clutter, and we're far better off without them.
Couldn't agree more.
