I was reluctant at first when I heard Nintendo was releasing yet another one because I already bought the Nintendo DSi followed by a Nintendo Dsi XL before. But then I read that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D might be released on the 3DS which kind of made me change my mind.

I was thinking of trading in my old Nintendo DSi for cash at GAME or Gamestation but they only give £45 or £60 in-store cash for it.

Anyone else thinking of getting a Nintendo 3DS in March and/or knows some better shops in the UK that give a little more for a DSi?
Everything that I read about this so far seems to me like nintendo is once again focusing on gimmicks instead of the damn games, almost everything seems to be either a remake or a port - This is the GBA all over again

Sure OOT might be cool and so might a few other games but so far: I'm not sold

I might get one eventually however I will just not care about it at the moment considering that buying a DS in the first place was a mistake that I made, I only had like 5-10 games for it while I had around 40 for the PSP
Just SFIV for 3DS is enough for me XD CANT FUCKING WAIT
I won't be buying one right away. There's nothing in the initial line up that I'm interested in. So I'll be waiting until at least one of the games I'm interested in is released before worrying about how to actually get hold of a 3DS.

I still remember how hard it was to purchase the DS lite when that was first released here, I doubt this one is going to be an easier to find as Nintendo have a habit of holding stock back, only allowing a trickle of 15 or so units per city, to create demand for their products here.
I guess a cost of around £180-£200 at release doesn't really help either. But I am a sucker for the Nintendo consoles and I probably won't be able to hold myself back and buy one anyway. I just hope Nintendo won't rip us off and release another one shortly after.

I'm watching the situation with interest. Nintendo basically is the only truly innovative big time console maker. Note, that I'm not talking about games here, just the hardware. If Nintendo succeeds, it does it big time, just look at Wii sales and how well MS and Sony have done with their motion controllers after they gave in. I bet, that at this moment in the Sony's headquarter Sony execs are praying every deity possible, that Nintendo manages to make 3D cool outside theaters, as the tech really isn't that hot, despite what some people might want to make you believe.

I thought the reason they gave for not releasing it already was so they didn't have to do this, or am I mistaken?

Kid Icarus and Paper Mario 3 not good enough for you? And then from Capcom we have 2 new RE games...
Hello everyone,

before buying a Nintendo3Ds please inform yourself about this technology. Nintendo itself announces that the 3Ds may cause eye damage. The device is not suited for children under 6 years, because their eye muscles can't receive 3D pictures very well. Here is a link of a sort about the thematic.

It would be a shame if one of you causes permanent damage to his or her health by playing a nice video game. Watch yourself.

Have a nice day.

My parents refuse to buy me one because I'm five and a half.

Well, if they release another it'll just be a redesign like the DS lite or the DSi XL. Hint: You don't have to buy the redesign.

I myself completely skipped the DSi/DSi XL. There was nothing exclusive to it that I wanted.

I'm pretty sure they're saying that to cover themselves. Playing the 3DS for 12 hours straight is just the sort of thing some idiot somewhere will do.

What is good for children must be good for adults, don't we agree on that?

HELL YEAH. I mean, fuck, them salty chocolate balls testify.
I do not want my children to have eye damage because i as loving parent did buy them a playtool, that destroys their eyesight. I know that nintendo is just covering themselfes. But it makes me not feel safe about buying a 3ds. I think i will skip this 3d technology this time :(.

3d technology in cinema makes me dizzy and i get a real headache when watching it for too long. I do not know what causes this. Sometimes i got motionsickness by playing a fps. Halflife engine is the most evil for me. After playing 10 minutes i am feeling extremely sick. Other fps engines are not so bad for me. This sickness feels like sea sickness. Funny is that i can travel on a boat without problems.

Have a nice day
