SlyFox: I think it is better not to use the rep system, with the serial -repist around.
My rep went from 50 to 19 already. so I'm pretty sure it will continue to go down.
I'm 100% positive its a few regulars that sit atop their 'high horse' down repping people based on their own.... (no details here, I don't want to piss said people off).

No, in all honesty, it is probably because the vast majority of the posts by you are in response to 'first reply gets game' ninja drops.

A lot of people may view that as greedy and may downrep you on that principle alone.
Perhaps slow down a little, and let some others get a game or two aswell.

Yes I know, if people down rep you for taking something that was freely offered with no strings attacked, are hypocrits;
welcome to the internet, the most ruthless place on planet earth. (even more so for ga downreppers! join ga = down repped)

I'm pretty sure it isn't the case. One day I didn't claim anything. I simply said congrats and happy birthday and still got downrepped.

It's probably been said now 100 times in the forums but I'll offer it up again... Just stop caring about rep completely, it is meaningless and has almost no benefit anyway. A very very few number of giveaways have rather minimal rep requirements just to ensure someone isn't making a dozen new accounts just to game the odds of winning in their favour or whatnot, but other than that and GOG's antispam system appearing to allow you to post more freely once you go over a certain number of points, rep is pretty much completely meaningless and whenever someone brings up a discussion about it and is upset about being downrepped what usually happens is some number of people out there downrep them even more.

The best thing to do is to just forget about rep and not care, especially if you do care, which is kind of silly to get worked up about it since it carries almost no useful meaning/purpose. When people let it bother them, they create their own frustration or whatever, and when they voice their frustration they basically tell everyone else it frustrates them and create opportunities for others to downrep them that seem to get a laugh out of it or whatever. Some people react to that in an upset manner towards whoever might be doing it and then it seems whoever does it flags the person and goes after them daily downreppign everything they post just to get a continued laugh out of upsetting someone.

Stop caring at all about it and the problem just vanishes.

That isn't a big enough 'slow down' silly.

It also doesn't matter, once someone gets it stuck in their mind after labeling you, they will forever downrep you based on harasment alone.

Personally for me, I don't feel welcomed at gog, specifically after being cursed at and selectivly removed from giveaways that were opened for all, just makes me sad really.

I'm poor and the only reason I did have money to spend was because I sold my car and pawned my living room furniture (which I missed buying back and now my living room is empty) and had a couple hundred $ left over from paying off bills.

I stopped caring a while ago. The topic came up simply because it was a requirement for others to participate in hellmonster67 reply giveaway. So I simply suggested not to base the giveaway on rep. Nothing more.

I'm not the only one. Even people who never claimed a game but instead create giveaways see their rep decrease.
I was just trying to say it's someone that enjoy abusing the system.
I doubt that even if I were to only claim a game once a month, this would change anything.

Don't let those few people get to you. Sadly they are everywhere on the internet since there are so many people, so there's no way to avoid them. Just ignore them and try to find the few that are more sincere and accepting.

OMG, that is the most stressful game! Is that what people mean by "casual?" Holy cow!

And, thanks. I've always been curious about super popular casual games.

Also, I can see why it's addicting. There's literally no way to exit the game.

I'm so trying to not care about rep...
but in my view, a down rep = "did I do something wrong?" feeling... and I don't want to feel like that, nor do I want to feel like I upset someone.

My constant -5 rep daily off and on; has me worried I'm doing something very wrong.. inline with being banned from gog even.
Or it is a specific person, and I wish they just pm me and we can clear up any missunderstandings or missgivings.

I understand gog wanting the user names to be anonymous... but I at least want to know which of my posts are getting down repped (low rating only shows up ... for what... 5+ down reps?).
That way I can figure out exactly what I need to fix to stop all this downrepping.... because my wordsmith is awful and I'm not always clear on my thoughts, and sometimes people draw the wrong conclusions from my strait forward posts.
It would be nice to just post the codes but whenever that happens the games are redeemed so quick it seems like no one even had a chance especially when you don't get a ''Got it'' or a "redeemed'' reply.. So therefore it's only makes sense to do the first reply thing or make someone google some silly answer for it..

I think casual games are for games that are played in short burst and are simple in design.
from 1 to 10 minutes and can be closed quickly.
Basically those games are mostly played during break time.
So it isn't dependent on difficulty.
