My local cinema's are showing these films on Halloween... now which horror classic would you choose?!
The Exorcist, any day of the week.
Nightmare On Elmstreet is the more Haloweenish horrormovie.
The Exorcist is more religious of tone, like The Omen.

I do agree but at the same time, this is the first chance I have to see two of my favourite horrors in the cinema. As someone who still appreciates seeing classics on the big screen I cannot pick between the two. :P
What are you looking for? Elm Street is kind of a "fun"movie, Exorcist isn't.

If you want to see a classic, I agree with ichtyandr, go see The Exorcist. =)

Lol :) In my opinion, The Omen was a cheap attempt to cash in on the hype of the great religious horror films that are The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby (and maybe, to a lesser extent, The Wicker Man). Everything that The Exorcist did right, The Omen butchers, IMHO...

I second Strijkbout's recommendation to listen to my recommendation :) Go see The Exorcist!

Neither. Go watch Manos Hands of Fate or The Room.

Those are true horror.

I'm not a big horrorfan myself, but I did like The Omen, and a movie with Gregory Peck in it can't be that bad.
The sequels of The Omen, now those were bad. =P

A complete horror to watch maybe...
Since you aks for the cinematic experience, i suggest "The Exorcist", but the first Nightmare Movie is also pretty strong in that regard.
"Exorcist" and you should be slapped for asking the question. :D
Exorcist, definitely. NOES is a classic, but Exorcist is possibly the scariest movie of all time.
On a sidenote, the absolute weirdest horror movie I've seen so far is Nobuhiko Obayashi's 1977 movie The House (Hausu). And yes, I've seen all of Lynch as well as Tetsuo: The Iron Man.

It's supremely entertaining, and visually very stunning and ahead of its time, but it's a WTF-a-minute. I urge you to see it.
