The notorious Mega CD title Night Trap will be re-released in the future, its co-creator has confirmed.
James Riley, who holds the rights to the game, told the closed Night Trap Facebook community the news earlier today.

"I appreciate your on-going interest," Riley replied, "but please understand I do plan to re-release Night Trap and have been talking with a number of interested parties to do so. However, the specific platform(s) have not been confirmed (including online) and I will let you know once we have a definite plan and release schedule.

"Night Trap will come back, in better resolution and game play than before, we just want to be sure it's the best strategy for all involved."

Oh wow best news of the day. I think I might have sold my sega cd copy long time ago when I was a kid. It was a interesting game and the violent hoopla of the time was unwarranted as it was very tame compared to mortal kombat and others.

Yay if it comes to gog! I did vote for it on the wishlist =) I'd so buy it......on sale of course. Unless I get my new job and can afford full price. ^_^

+1 vote on the wishlist. Night Trap is the sleezy game I drooled over wanting to play in my youth, I'd love to give it a proper whirl. I wonder whatever happend to US Senator Liberman.

Maybe GOG is abstaining from releasing it for fear of becoming embroiled in political turmoil surrounding this release, is that still a thing? [haha]

Heh, interesting! I was in contact with a few people regarding the game, but I thought the person who held the rights didn't actually have any interest in a re-release. I guess the other person I was in contact with contacted the right person about re-releasing the game and got through. ;)

EDIT: I'd imagine Night Dive is involved.
