JudasIscariot: I wouldn't worry about it too much. After all, GOG is getting some free advertising :D

de_Monteynard: It's nice that you guys are getting some advertisement, but that does answer the confusion around publishers. I know the Bizdev team doesn't allow you to go spilling the beans, but is there any way we can know who exactly has been given the publishing rights? Why hasn't Gamepot Inc. published the games by itself on Steam?
Maybe publishers aren't anymore what they used to be. They used to be collectors of game studios. Today they are IP holders. And somehow you might be even able to split the same IP into different hands - we would need to ask a lawyer how such a thing can be possible. Or maybe GOG has wrongly labelled the publisher. Or maybe Gamepot and Nightdive is secretly the same company (with a completely different name).

Just guessing... :)
GOG version remains superior (at least for me) to anything else (well, maybe equally great as a DRM-free hard copy). Now, GOG, it's time to take New Vegas from Steam exclusive list :) It pains me every time I run the game, knowing Steam running behind it :)

Free advertising for GOG but never knew Night Dive was behind the release. I actually wish GOG had longer exclusive periods for releases ie like as in BG rather than the short one SS2 had etc
We don't need advertise but there is more :)

Glory to Pookins!
I'm okay with this as long as Night Dive didn't just see how well these were selling on GOG and then go make a deal with Gamepot. :P (Perhaps they originally helped GOG get in touch with Gamepot.) I'd still prefer to see ND focus more on resurrecting games not available on any current digital distributors.

grviper: If they have DOS Wiz7 there, I'll buy it on a sale. With free cards money.
It looks like Wizardry 7 includes both versions; the store page lists OS X and Linux versions while also saying "Wizardry 7 Gold is currently only available in English and on the Windows platform".

spindown: Interesting. This might suggest that Night Dive was somehow behind the GOG re-release of Wizardry too.
The more likely explanation is that Gamepot hoped it would build interest in Wizardry Online--note how a Wizardry Online promo is shown in the GOG installers whereas normally you only see ads for other GOG releases.
Is there any evidence at all that Night Dive was involved in the initial release at all? Far more likely it's like the D&D situation where the GOG versions got supplied to Atari who then supplied them to Gamersgate et al after a certain period, albeit in that case they didn't even bother changing the GOG installer. In contrast, in the case of SS2 Night Dive is directly credited, and took full credit for the release, had a build up etc. I'd envisage something like Night Dive going to Gamepot independently after the GOG release, and being supplied the GOG versions by them.

I'd speculate that Night Dive's involvement is to subvert any potential Greenlight problems and act as an intermediary, and they zero to do with the initial release.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Night Dive was also behind the JFK assassination. They're pulling strings left and right!

If Night Dive actually manages to get Shadow Man on GOG, I would be very, very happy.
Actually, both 6+7 are included in a bundle for $5. And the full bundle is $1 less than on GOG.
