MichaelFurlong: What genre or style of game would you like to see worked on (which isn't currently being worked on). Urgh, I'm tired. Night all.
A good Vertical shootemup. More Jamestown, less Scoregasm.
Has anyone contacted them asked why they haven't done any marketing? I mean, it cost virtually nothing to assign one or two people to spread the kickstarter page through popular and cult following forums specifically for games as well as social media.

Plenty of folks have pointed it out to them in comments, and their reply is (to paraphrase): "Bear with us, we a small busy group, but do care, and will do more, blah, blah blah", but in reality, they really did very little. It's a real shame. Indeed, how tough is it to get someone to do some PR and posting about the web? They weren't exactly asking for pocket change here. Sheeeet, you look at the job Obsidian did with Project Eternity, or even on a much smaller scale, how Chris Taylor handled his little baby Arakion, and they should be ashamed of themselves. I think it was Orchish Gamer in another thread that mentioned that perhaps they were just terribly under prepared...this or just they figured the money would "roll" in with no effort and active participation to succeed on their part. Whatever the reason, it falls more on their shoulders than anyone else, and it sucks :-/
You're Either Nexus or You're Against Us!
I pledged $35 which is all i can afford for it the first game was really good and hope this gets funded but it seems like it is a long road for it to be funded sigh.
well, it might help if they didn't "sell out" of the $20 pledge ... do they really think people are going to see that and go "well, shit ... I guess I will pay more!"

Good point..the next tier up @ $25 isn't even 10% of those that shelled out $20 for the earlybird pledge spot. I understand they wanted to limit that level pledge, but in retrospect now, you'd think they'd up it a bit, as they have definitely miscalculated, and the kickstarter is in serious trouble of failing miserably...gotta wonder what is going through their heads

Yeah that sort of thing is like Kickstarter 101. If you're going to put limited items on a low pledge tier, you need to have a backup tier at that SAME pledge level. You don't make everybody else pay $5 extra just so they can something other than a pathetic thank-you note.
I'm sad if they don't achieve their goal (which is likely to happen), but to be honest I don't think their 650k goal was very realistic, seeing this in the light how they (not) advertised this.
Nexus: TJI wasn't a very well known game or made by well known devs like Double Fine or Wastland and they should have calculated their exposure on big gaming sites even before their KS went live, most succesful KS had met their goals within a week or so.
It is all about marketing in the end, and this Kickstarter proved that word of mouth didn't work as fans advertising Nexus on forums and social media are not being heard at all.
The devs themselves are now playing panick football to save what they can, but it now needs a miracle to get the funds they want.
I can't really be arsed with them anymore. Nexus was a lovely game, but if they're not going to work extra hard during this window, I don't see why the fans should.

I mean, they want $650k in 30(?) days. They should be working 20 hours a day to spread the word.
