I say is Daikatana. Specially for the bitch part. If that's the case I'm going to buy it when it's on sale. I already saw countless reviews on Youtube but I want to experience the game first hand. As a gamer rite of passage.
A "No One Lives Forever 1+2" bundle for this week! That would be fantastic.

Snickersnack: That perhaps some of the people here with opinions on Daikatana have actually played it? ;)

TrIp13G: Are you honestly suggesting that the game is good?
I'm suggesting that Daikatana is more of a meme than a game to most people.

Yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you claim those who have "actually played it" know something that the rest of the world, and reviewers at the time of the game's release do not?
What if GOG has finally signed Zenimax and the release is from John Romero's work with id Software (Doom, Heretic/Hexen, Quake or Wolfenstein 3D).

On a related note, since some of the id Software games are priced $4.99 elsewhere, vote for:

Regular price points below $5.99!

Who owns the rights to Turok? That would be a nice vintage series.

I thought it was OK when I played it first time. Might not be the finest FPS ever made, but I have certainly played a lot worse. /shrug

Well personally I'm still pulling for the Wizardry games as I said they are very difficult so it does fit with the clue that "it's so hardcore it will make you it's bitch" and John Romero's Wife Brenda Brathwaite did work as a playtester for the early games and then later had a bit more of a hands on role on the later installments in the series

but that's just wishful thinking

I'm not against GOG bumping each game up a buck (maybe adding some interesting bonus content to make up the difference), but a 2.99 price bracket would be nice.

I like the "stability" of 5.99 and 9.99, so I don't want to see, like, a 4.99 or 3.25 bracket. I'd prefer something logical, and half of 5.99 is 2.99, so that makes sense to me.
I've beaten Daikatana a few times, SP and Co-op.

Sometimes the AI can be really smart and actually surprise you. Sometimes, they get killed by fucking doors, or act like mindless robots. Sometimes the levels or gameplay can throw something interesting at you. Sometimes the game forces you to battle small, hard to hit annoying enemies.

Basically, it's average. No where near a good game, but far from a terrible one. I've played a lot of games and there are much worse out there. If GOG does release it, I'll get it on sale.

I think it "deserves" a place here as a part of gaming history, but I'm hoping GOG was able to get it for 5.99 instead of GamerGate's 9.99. Doesn't really seem likely, though. :(
