Portal 2, while first person, certainly isn't a shooter. It's damn good fun puzzle game in coop. Looking further afield there's the Dawn of War II games, although I haven't played them in coop yet. In fact most RTS games can be played coop if you set them up right. You could have you and a friend vs AI at the difficulty of your choice.

Speaking of noob friendly..

If you like being killed in seconds after battle starts, you may call it noob friendly :D

If your going to play mount and Blade in MP spend a few months playing it.

Unfortunatly no matter how kind and freindly people are you will still see assholes at level 85.

The biggest problem with wow is that people don't see you as a person, all they see is how good your Gear is they couldn't give 2 shits about how skilled you are or your personality, heck some players act like total douchebags and still get invited to groups etc just because they have good gear and that's what has ruined the game slightly.

However to counter that, if you do somehow find a decent guild then yes, it can be good since they won't judge you on gear and they will help you level up :P

Find yourself a nice guild, and you'll have lots of fun playing together. I still have some people from my guild in my WL contact list.

you could try Mythos, it F2P, ive played it for a few hours and it seems ok, PvP is optional, you have to accept it, you dont just get some prick walk up and destroy you.

Same thing in WoW, if you play on 'Normal' servers. Opposing factions can only kill you in battlegrounds, arenas, or in their own capital cities.

MMORPGs are all about e-peen.

They are developed to find good armor, and then stay on the city centre, AFK for 24 hours and let everybody watch how awesome your gear is.

AFAIK multiplayer in Spellforce 2 is dead.

and isn't the ladder system in SC2 based on match-making? To play with people on similar skill as you?

I also have thinked to try at somepoint multiplaying but well.. I wasn't bad in crysis 2 demo but it was still some sniping in my neck. And that predator vision..
And doesn't most multiplayer-games cost something regular basis?
Well, today seems to be so hot (well thunder is coming) that I don't even think about playing anything.

Some, not all though because there are some nice people out there that you will meet (I.E in guilds you can make good freinds with people) it's just a lot of these people you meet in random groups and such only care for themselves and will walk over people to get what they want.

It's not so much the players fault as it is Blizzards for encouraging this sort of Elitist and rude behavior. However as i said before, as long as you find a good guild and good freinds then you can disregard most of those people by not joining random end level dungeons etc.

How about those "free-to-play" mmorpgs, are they any good? Reaver suggested Mythos, maybe I'll check it out.
