I challenge you to try and use IE9 or IE10 for a few days, the 64-bit version with Enhanced Protection Mode and SmartScreen enabled. :p If you need Adblock-like functionality, then just install a Tracking Protection List (I am using my own, and have total control of what is blocked and what isn't).
Anyways, people should really move on, yes IE was stagnated for a long time because the 7th version was linked with Vista's release, which by the time it was released, many new things were being used on the Internet, but we are not 2006 anymore. :)
