timppu: I wonder if the same starts happening at least to Xbox One games more and more? After all, if people can't sell their own games to recoup money for newer games, they will simply either use less money per game, or buy less games.
Not so much. Remember the licensing costs, everybody has to pay MS and Sony a fee, not to mention they actually are loosing some money on selling just the console, so they seek revenue with games.

Price drop would be good, of course, but I doubt it would be as significant as on PCs.

Unless they switch to digital distribution entirely at some time.

FlamingFirewire: After following the reveal all day and reading up on it, I can only make one conclusion about the new XBOX. I will always confuse it for the original XBOX and that it makes me indescribably sad.
I loved Original Xbox

It actually had exclusives worth owning
It had good hardware
It pushed online play

Sure the system was almost as big as my dick but at the end it was all about the games, MS's partnership with many publishers and especially with SEGA is what made the system good

the 360 was such a massive dissapointment and had so many problems, so instead of improving the system they took 2 steps back, with the new console they are taking 1000 steps back

Elmofongo: Where is Bill Gates when you need him :(
They are making record profits every quarter and stocks are all-time high since he left... how exactly do they need him?
Does the new Xbawks Wan even have the capabilities to run games?
M$ never showed games...

At the time of M$ presentation their stock went down by 2% and exactly at that time sony's stock went up by 15%
it doesnt get more clear than that, how many people thought the presentation was BS

I think it would be easier to ask who actially liked the presentation. I imagine I would not see many who did.
It only needs some touch-enabled controls and the new box will be the epitome of crapness and the death of gaming as we know it.

Seriously, I want to PLAY GAMES not to be connected to the fucking "cloud" universe or do social crap or "apps" or whatever on a TV-set. Give me a new Dreamcast, jfk....

Kinect 2 presentation, capabilities, technical details, and other stuff... pretty awesome.

Michiduta: Ok, seriously what has happened to Microsoft over the past years?
To Summarize it in short: Instead of Giving people what they want, like it used to, Microsoft is now TELLING people what they should want

I think that's how you can summarise the entertainment media industry as a whole over the past seven years.

I was talking about after the burst of the bubble in the early 2000s, when Gates left and Ballmer took over.

Unfortunately, I am not a drunk redneck, I am a gamer

Microsoft is not giving me what I want

Microsoft will not get my money
