Elenarie: I'm talking from a developers' point of view, this is great. That is all that is relevant to me.
I didn't know you were a developer. I'm a consumer, i don't care about this shit.

Elenarie: This is also true for the PSx versions of their games?
Not a clue but their Xbox One presence seems to be strong so far, no idea how their PS4 presence will be.

Gandos: Have you ever wondered how the Phillips CD-i would be like if it was made today?

Now you know.
Brilliant. This sums up the Xbox One.

I think strong third party support is what gave MS their edge with the 360. When I was weighing my decision to purchase either a 360 or PS3, I took a long look at both libraries, and the 360's, at that time, was much stronger than Sony's was.

I'm not going to underestimate dev ease of use importance in the equation, as it's a solid indicator about game functionality, ability to port, etc.

Like I said...I'll be watching E3 like a hawk.
Strange, no mention of Windows 8 for Xbox?

Steven Spielberg for Halo TV, yeah his only there in name, just like what he did with Transformers :P

Finally Call of Duty hyping up new innovations for Ghost, like leaning.......even though we had leaning since Call of Duty 1 and earlier :P and I am not buying the "Better" single player campaign story and better characters unless I see it for myself.

Honestly I was more interested in Sony's conference, at least they had this:

I agree with you there. Microsoft doesn't have as many strong exclusive titles as Sony or Nintendo, but they seem to have the domiance over third-party support.

Neobr10: EA has just announced that they would drop online-passes. Coincidence? Haha.
At least we know now the real reason why Frostbite supposedly miraculously refuses to work on Wii U. Sony too have been very guarded with their wording about the online requirement, only stating explicitly that no always-on requirement will be required. I very much suspect that Sony have implemented a similar system in the PS4.

I know now as far as I'm concerned that Xbox One is off the table for me with this announcement. Just remains to be seen what happens with the PS4, but Wii U is looking to be my primary console for the coming gen.

And here is a good recommendation:

Fictionvision: no backwards compatibility are the real deal breakers for me
A technical explanation for this would be the difference in architectures... the 360 uses the PowerPC architecture, while the One uses the x86-64 architecture.

That's the only bloody reason I've even given the Wii U a glance so far. Still hoping they'll announce a Monster hunter for the Vita/PS4 at some point. Either that or that they bring Monster Hunter Online to the West as well.

Elmofongo: Strange, no mention of Windows 8 for Xbox?
It is "using" Windows 8... kind of... it uses the WindowsNT 6.3 (I don't see a reason why a non-released console would use the current 6.2 kernel) kernel. Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 use 6.2, my guess is that the Blue upgrade for those would use 6.3 too.

You mean Deep Down, its not confirmed if its a real game, and the "gameplay" is not real. It sort of a Tech Demo but who knows it may end up being real.

E3 for game-related announcements, and //build for dev-related announcements.

It's sadly wrong, they specifically retracted the Internationally statement, it's still only confirmed for China at this point.

"”In a press release issued last week, we stated that the upcoming Monster Hunter Online from Tencent Games and Capcom would be released “internationally.” This information was in contrast to official communications from Tencent Games, who only confirmed the release of Monster Hunter Online for the Chinese market at a recent promotional event.
As stated by Tencent Games, Monster Hunter Online is only officially confirmed for release in China, and we would like to apologize for any confusion caused by our stating otherwise.”"
