I went into this not expecting much, but it's actually pretty interesting. She has some good points, and when it's all put together like that, it makes you realise how shallow game narratives often are.

I guess maybe we just interpret things differently.

When she describes the titles as focussing on crude, unsophisticated male power fantasies, I don't take that as accusing the people responsible for the titles as being against women, I just take that as suggesting some of the games, to put it simply, contain some elements which are against women. Like if someone says I made a sexist joke, I don't think they are attacking me as being sexist, just my joke about sandwiches and kitchens or whatever.

And the title is about the tropes being against women, not necessarily the developers of the games.

And describing some of the stories as patronizing is again, on my interpretation, attacking the stories, not necessarily suggesting the people who wrote those stories are against women.

I guess maybe it comes down to interpretation. My job often involves me arguing with people about things so I am pretty good at distinguishing between attacking someone's opinion/argument/whatever vs attacking that person.

It is obvious by this point that this video is basically saying, a lot of games out there are against women. In my opinion, that is also saying the people behind these games are against women. And I think you'd have to be crazy to believe that. That is why I think she is a crazy feminist.

Depends actually. One may not be attacking however mildly or vindictively (and those were pretty mild) individual creators, but culture. In other words, it's the difference between talking about the weather versus the climate. Individual weather may be bad or good, but not amount to very much information unless examined in total. A lot of the complaints vis-a-vis women in games are about climate not weather. It would be a mistake to say, as your earlier post contended, that no video game has ever been made that "was against women" - there have been plenty, especially in the old days (and in Japan). Few today could be on individual level considered outright sexist, but the climate is still very much "for boys by the boys club". That said, a lot of video game companies recognize this as a problem and are trying to improve. I would the industry is moving as a whole in very positive directions, again climate is improving even if there are still a few bad instances of weather. Culture can change slowly, but it is changing in good directions.
