Potzato: That was a good fun read. Many thx for that.
You're welcome! I'm happy you liked it. :-D

keeveek: There is no female fight club in the movie, not even a hint of it.
No, but the fact that women approached the author about a female Fight Club shows that the appeal of the story's themes is not limited to guys but has a universal quality to it.

It's also interesting to note that while the men in the story feel that they're being intentionally softened by the system, the unreliable narrator in some ways is also exploiting their archaic desire to be "true masculine men" for his one manic agenda. It could have been an action movie with a simple message like "guys just wanna be guys", but it's not. It's kind of sneaky.

I knew it! No more videogames for you, son! :P
You know, I think all the cyclical nature of this debate could probably be solved by a focus group that actually asks female gamers what THEY like, what THEY identify with, and what THEY take issue with, rather than to ignorantly attempt to base arguments for a sex that we aren't, who have issues that our gender doesn't, and so on.

With that being said, MOAR OFF TOPIC!

It's probably only movie where I like both book and movie adaptation :). Okay and LoTR but that's a cliché.
