Alfie3000: No my point was I don't think Roberta Williams or Jane Jensen are misogynistic or sexist or whatever in any way. They created their fictional characters and story the way they wanted. If you think because the game features a man saving a woman that it somehow automatically makes it something sexist and wrong. It's all fictional fantasy. They used a plot device found in all media. It doesn't make them or the player a bad person for enjoying it. Some people over analyse.
JMich: Let me ask you this, would reversing the genders make any significant change to the plot/storyline? Would it be that different if Cassima went looking for Alexander instead? And the most interesting question, why do we assume it's natural for the male to go looking for the female? Take a look at Costume Quest, one sibling is on a quest to help the other sibling, no matter if you play as the brother or the sister. Game/story is still the same.
