Hi. I just signed up for this site and wonder what it really is about... I have several questions concerning the site and what it does.
1. How many years should pass since the game release date for it to be counted "old" and appear on this site?
2. Are there only pc games here?? I'd love to have some old PS or Dreamcast gamest finally bugless on pc!!!! If no, are there any plans to add emulated games later???
3. What payment methods are supported? I live out of US and would like to know how to actiually download these games..
4, Concerning the wish list, what is it for?? I mean people who signed up just share thoughts or the administration of the site takes those wishes in consideration??

Thanks in advance!!!

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.....

First off, welcome to GOG! Now for your questions.

1. The Old part isn't really emphasized as much anymore since indie games that are new do get releases here, but there are still a steady stream of classics. The more important part now is the willingness of the company to sell their games DRM free for them to make it here.

2. Only PC games. Emulated stuff might be a bit difficult to do, unless it was official emulator versions, like say if a collection made by Sega of Genesis games was released here.

3. They take Paypal and Credit Cards for sure. I don't remember offhand if there were any other payment methods listed when I checked out last time.

4. Wish lists are mainly done as a way to show publishers there are people interested in their older classics and they can make money re-releasing them here.
Hello and welcome to GOG.com

1 - There isn't really a 'set' number of years, also, recently GOG started selling some newer games, like Alan Wake, Assassins Creed etc. and some 2012 indie releases. So there isn't just 'old' games. :-)

2 - Emulated games are a lot tricker, I'm not expert on the subject but from what I understand there are legal problems emulating systems like that without the consent of the original console manufacturer.

3 - Not sure exactly how to explain it so I will leave it to someone else. :)

4 - Yeah, you pretty much got it. It won't make them get it, but if there is something especially high count, then I think they kinda would take more notice. Except that too is tricky, like System Shock 2 is one of the highest wanted games but it is a legal mess, so don't bank on GOG getting it soon I'm afraid. :-(

Hope this clarifies, and once again welcome to GOG.

EDIT - Damned ninja's!

EDIT: Also it is not only PC, they started selling Mac games too a while back, if you are that way inclined. :)
