GhostwriterDoF: Large game size downloads are conveniently broken up into smaller downloads, largest being 1.5 to 2 gig by GoG.

jjsimp: Convenient to some, for me it's a PITA. My work server blocks .bin files,so any of those larger, broken-up installers I have to download at home. It would be more convenient to me if they were just one large executable or zipped together.
How dare they try to make you focus on work at work!

We must think about the multitudes of our fellow GoGlodytes who struggle with slow speed internet connections. After an hour or more betwixt downloads they should be able to get a gaming break, to quell the boredom of waiting for downloads...

Man, Burger King must really not want you gaming on company time.

No, they're cool with it.

P.S. I actually did work at BK ages and ages ago (truly, 17 years ago! My gosh where has my life gone?).

So... I have tried Stalker and I do tend to enjoy it. I have already played Fallout, though via XBOX360. That was a fun addiction. I never did get into the New Vegas era of the series though. I am also enjoying the Zday Origins mod for ARMA II. The stand alone version is not YET as good as the mod. Just my opinion. I really wanted to try the Witcher series but was told that the newer ones make grown men blush. I'm not into any sexual content in games. Some things are just better kept real and private. Damn them!! The games truly appear to have some amazing graphics and I'm getting into the creation of a few new games myself. Is there a forum for people who want to participate in creating games, contributing to development or game ideas people would like to see carried out? I'm observing the materializing of a visually interesting game. The male voice acting seems pretty good so far, pretty interesting. Curious to see where the game goes though... Tesseract is it's name. I found it under Steam's Greenlight section. The community decides what games they want to have a chance and what ones don't. I believe it's for people trying to get started in the game industry. I love seeing people's creativity and talent. Everyone has some, many just need opportunity!
just wanted to say hi, welcome :)

Glad to hear STALKER is good to you, it's quite a fabulous game. I have the same opinion of the two Fallouts on Xbox as well - 3 took over my life, NV didn't impress at all.

Anyway, glad you are finding good stuff here on GOG! Let us know if you ever need other genre recommendations.
Welcome BarbieZero! :)

tinyE: Momo is so full of shit. A Goglodyte is a prehistoric crustacean which lived in the Miocene era most closely related to our modern day Blue Crabs which inhabit the North Atlantic Coast of America.
Not quite.
Gog rhymes with cog, and dog.

A goglodyte is a slightly less evolved troglodyte inhabiting the Gog forums.

A "goggie" is of similar origin as "doggie" except it refers to a goglodyte rather than a dog. Similarly, a "goggybag" is a mixed-together bag of fodder for the already-mentioned "goggie", also know as a "gift certificate" in more advanced language.

Well it is now!

The science of zoology and prehistory is an ever changing and (pardon the pun) evolving thing. Every day discoveries are made that rewrite text books and change our whole way of thinking; what we perceived as true one day is proven false the next. I made that post 14 days ago when as far as we knew the information I presented was correct. You can't nail me to with revelations that have been made since then.

How about ones that were made in 2010? You're saying facts have changed since I stated them? Puny human, Maighstir SMASH!

Maighstir: snip
I prefer gognard, a combination of GOG and grognard. But then I'm an old wargamer who knows such things, unlike you youngsters, what with your lan parties and your cheese-flavoured popcorn and your giving women the vote. ;)
Welcome to GOG! I'm pretty new too but it's already one of my favorite communities.
