since I am in love with it right now and anything by Larian studios!

Do you have The Witcher 2?

I haven't played Witcher 2. It looks good, but I want play the first one before the second. I don't know why really. I never played fallout 1 and 2, and 3 was still alot of fun.

Unfortunately, I can't help you in regards to Stalker Chernobyl Stalker or Risen 2, as I haven't played them, however, the Witcher is great!

So, in regards to trading/giveaways, basically, when you purchase a game, you have the option to 'gift it'.
Very often, members will hold giveaways (usually because they're generous souls) where members can enter for the chance to win a game. Once someone has been chosen, you can then send or 'gift' the game to that person.
With trading, usually people seem to do this with codes that they might already have and so they trade it in the hopes of getting a game they don't already own, or something along those lines.

Today is the last day of the Fall Sale promotion. As you can see on the main page, there are a number of excellent bundles on discount. There is bound to be a bundle or two that will catch your fancy. Beyond that, there are also hundreds of games currently on a 50% discount that is good until tomorrow morning as well. You might want to give all of these a look while you can. Of course, there will be another big sale in about three weeks when GOG has their Winter Sale promotion, so no need to rush.

Trading is typically something arranged between two people via Private Message. In a trade, the person with the lowers Reputation score will PM the gift code for their item first and then the recipient will send their exchange second.

The rules for giveaways will vary depending on the particular giveaway. Refer to the first post in any giveaway thread for all of the details for participation. If you yourself are hosting a giveaway, you can make your own rules. One preferred rule, although not required, is to at least Make A Human Answer You (MAHAYO for short), meaning that a recipient should at least have to post SOMETHING in order to get a gift. While you can just paste gift codes into a post/thread, this is usually not preferred as there is no guarantee that the recipient has any intention of playing or keeping the game.

Thanks for the info, everyone. On gifting, can I gift games that I have played, same as with discs? I tend to play a game through a couple of times before moving on.

On gog in general, this seems more my speed than steam. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more in way of newer games, but to me, a good game is a good game, no matter when it was made or the graphics. Treasure Adventure is a good example, I think. Looks like it was made in the nes days, but the graphics don't matter.

No. You buy it, it's yours, it goes to your account and you can't gift it. You can however buy any game as a gift and send it to whoever you want, doesn't matter if you have it or not.
