I choose to hope for the best. But if it's rubbish, that's fine, too.

The movie was extremely bad. But the screenies show some potential.

I'm not expecting TIE Fighter and XWing Alliance. But just to get into a TIE or XWing again and shoot a few things might be fun for a few days.

sauvignon1: Eh. I still have the original Rogue Squadron, and that's all I need.
Rogue leader would be even better :(

Elmofongo: I like to say something else Star Wars related:

The Prequals was not the worst thing that ever happened to Star Wars no, the worst thing was A New Hope losing the 1977 Academy Award for best picture to Annie Hall the generic drama movie that made no impact :P
Remind me to never again value anything you say :P

I love Star Wars but that statement about Annie Hall is just bonkers.

And you think it's a drama? Perhaps you should re-watch it.

I suspect he hasn't seen it. "no impact", "generic" doesn't really define the movie.
It's gonna suck...

mistermumbles: I think I'll wait until EA and DICE roll out their take on Battlefront to fulfill my SW craving. Should be much more entertaining.
Oh yeah, I always forget about that one. It still makes me lol that a series that began as a Battlefield rip-off is now being continued by the studio that made Battlefield.

Wow, took a look at the screens and the first thing that I thought was "to think that it's only been fifteen years since X-Wing Alliance". And it was a very cynical thought.

The trailer indeed looked cheap.
I'm burned out on Star Wars games... Regardless of what you think of the prequels, the prequels, tie-ins, books in the 90's, animated series games... I'd be more excited if they didn't do anything Start Wars related for 5-10 years, as it is, it's just another brick in the wall.

Well how often people talk about Annie Hall or Woody Alan in general, but everyone still talks about Star Wars.

I mean people say Goodfellas should have won, not Dances with Wolves. And either The Shawshank Redemption or Pulp Fiction should have won not Forrest Gump. And Especially Saving Private Ryan should have won and not Shakespeare in Love.

Also I had a chance to see Annie Hall on TV but never got around to it.

I'll wait and see. There are many examples of F2P games done right, so i'll give it the benefit of doubt before judging it. The idea of having a multiplayer space combat game in the Star Wars universe is pretty cool.

Your view of what people are "still" talking about is very dependent on the people you choose to surround yourself with or the websites you choose to read.

Yeah, I agree with that, that's why I didn't say "oh my God, what is this crap?!", I may end up playing and enjoying the game. However, the visuals suggest sub-par technical execution and bad technical execution suggests a bad overall product. So in my book chances of this game turning out good are pretty slim.

Is that so well as in apology I should watch Annie Hall on Netflix (if its on Netflix) and will try to have a better understanding how it beat Star Wars in the 1977 Academy Award for Best Picture.
The Deus Ex rule should apply to Annie Hall! Whenever it is brought up, someone watches it again :D

spindown: Why can't we just have a new campaign-based single-player Star Wars space combat game?
Because they want to stick straws into people and constantly drink their milkshakes...
