Psyringe: Wait - I already noticed that the site update destroyed the way how I arranged the games on my shelf - are you saying that I won't even be able to reinstate the structure I had? My shelf started with strategy games; obviously a few spaces at the end remained free because the number of strategy games I own isn't divisible by 5, the I left one row free to separate the strategy section from the next section, which was RPG.

It's not possible anymore to order one's games in this way? But what's the point of a shelf if it _has_ to be one contiguous mess? Am I missing something?

It's not a big deal (as you can tell by the fact that I haven't tried to reinstate my former shelf order yet), but I don't understand why the shelf functionality would be deliberately reduced?
This is what I had as well. No you can't do that now. It does bug me that GOG has long marketed itself as a kind of collector's site which is why I have so many games on here, but has very limited options when it comes to organising your collection.

tejozaszaszas: I also prefer the new one... And there is a feature I love from the new shelf. It have all my games in the cronological order I´ve bought them, and of course it can be changed.

No, that´s not true. Whe I bought many games they appeared at the middle of my shelf.

I actually like the no-gaps touch right now. So I don't have to move the whole shelf one by one while I just want to insert one game in the middle.

The only problem I have in the new design is that when I go to "browse games", they always sort thing by default in bestselling, which it's not so convinient as most of the time, I'm looking for a particular game.

Didn't want to start a new thread so I will add this here: Every time I purchase a game the shelf resets and does not stay in the order I selected. Anyone having this issue?

Why should I have to manually order them by title when this option exists and worked just fine in the past. It should not reset to by purchased date every time I buy a new game.

An it is for me as well - my question is why does it change in the first place when it never did before and why do I have to click anything to get it back. Lazy programmers period.

you know what I want in the distant future?

Games in 3D boxes on our virtual shelf, where you can "open them" to look at the Floppy disks/CD/DVD and you can "take a look at the extras" like the manual, guides, soundtrack CD etc...

No - Every time I make a purchase not just once. That is the mentality of a lazy programmer - well the user can do that we don't need to worry about it. They should have spent some time actually enhancing something instead of breaking it. It worked fine - was never an issue before. So what is the point - irritate the user? Of course this is a very trivial issue and I know it but come on why break something that is already working fine.

I used to have my shelf neatly sorted into genres interspersed by gaps. Alas, that's not possible anymore =( but I've found another way to sort my games - I've now made the games that I've finished hidden and I've left the games I haven't finished visible. Just thought I'd give that a mention, since I think it's one interesting way to deal with the new gap-free shelf.
