For the fans of this type of games :)
It's a really great game, but Steam is far from required. In fact, it actually runs in a browser. http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/

But yeah, I really recommend giving it a shot. Lots of fun.

I'm not in this type of games :)
That game looks, or rather sounds like fun!
Is any GOGer playing it, or going to try it?
If so, when and how can you be reached?

If you fancy playing on EUEast, keep an eye out for "Archibald" ;P.
Sounds very cool. I'll be giving it a try as soon as I get home.
We need some with 1000 fame to create GOG guild! :)

Also, for steamhaters, you can still play it through browser - http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/

roguelike? RPS described is as "bullet hell MMO".

It has permadeath, which causes people to use the roguelike descriptor sometimes. Binding of Isaac was called a roguelike in some cases.

I think with BoI it was more the random levels / enemies / items. That's what really constitutes a "roguelike-like" IMO, not permadeath.

I'd consider BoI about as rogue-like as Diablo.
I played a Wizard up to level 20 and then got him killed cause I was bored. What's the point of this game? It seems tedious and repetitive, which isn't the true nature of a roguelike.
This game isn't a roguelike btw. Just because it has perma death doesn't make it one.

Not a problem, as long as there's actually a decent number of people here willing to join it ;P.
I'll play, but is there more to it than just random running around?

Not really, but you're supposed to be running frantically enough not to notice ;).
It's extremely simplistic but just as easy to get into - it drops you into the tutorial on the spot, teaches pretty much EVERYTHING in 3 minutes and leaves you to your own devices afterwards. 10 minutes in you should be able to make up your mind about it... which is not much of an investment.
Tried it out, seems pretty decent, though I have never been one for the Diablo style gameplay, so probably wont mess with it anymore
