[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/wing_commander_privateer]Wing Commander: Privateer is another classic gem from the critically acclaimed Origin Systems. The famous Wing Commander universe serves as the setting for this exceptional Elite-style game. It draws its concept and inspiration from this classical masterpiece and elevates it to a whole new level. An entire galaxy is there to explore or find a good trade route, get rich, and pimp out your ship. ;)

Be a pirate, a merchant, or a bounty hunter serving the highest bidder. Make life-long friendships and earn sworn enemies that will track you down and attempt to wipe you out. At the end of the day the only thing that counts is your Credit Balance.

sweat Jesus I do miss big boxes.

I also really miss every box NOT having Microsoft stamped on it.
So far so good, but please, please bring Righteous Fire!

dudalb: It does not require a joystick, but I cannot imigine playing any flight based game without one.
You're right, most games are really set up for Joysticks, and they kind of forget to map out the mouse and keyboard well. If one is looking for flight games that work well with mouse and/or keyboard, I would reccommend Freelancer or Strike Commander. Both I have played hundreds of hours through the years with keyboard/mouse only and they are fun and more than do-able that way. 8-)

gamebin: It could be a disagreement on pricing, licensing, EA may have had a 3rd party create the expansions and so on and on. I'm sure the real reason will not be known.
Somewhere at the back of my head, I was remembering the expansion being developed externally, but the original box doesn't say anything about a 3rd party, just "Origin, an Electronic Arts company". So it really looks like someone's trying to be greedy.

Sadly, no big surprise there. Oh well, here's hoping my disks are still working.

Anyway, what I'd really be paying for is Wing Commander 1&2 including Secret Missions (bugs and everything!) and most importantly a timing fix! :)
This might be a double post but I got some weird error when I tried to post this earlier.

Is there some way to make the mouse NOT so so fast when playing this? I am not sure if this specific topic was touched on here.

Currently, when I try to line up my nav point and hit 'a' i move my mouse just a hairs width and I go spinning all over... is there anyway to tone this down a bit... since as is, its really unplayable :(

Thanks for any help

Hey, you think they'll ever make a game based on that novelization?

Wow, nice pictures. I never read any Wing Commander books, but I already downloaded whole series to my iRiver Story. Can anyone tell me if these books are worth reading?
Wing Commander the Movie wasn't something extremely worth watching. I hope books represent higher level.
